PvP help?
Re: PvP help?
it depends what kind of PvPer your character is.
But for starters... here's a general guideline for complete new players:
Mage:
* Start off with a magic arrow/harm
* Cast feeblemind, weaken, clumsy
* Always cast explosion before energy bolt
* Find ways to throw in a poison spell
* Maintain your MANA
* Practice dueling with friends (Only way you'll get better is to practice more and more)
* Work on combo combinations (Magic Arrow, Feeblemind, Weaken, Clumsy, Explosion, Ebolt, Harm, *Pull out weapon*, Harm, Harm, Ebolt, Harm, etc.)
* Carry potions and USE them
Dexxer:
* Maintain HP
* Carry and USE potions
* Learn when to hit and when to run
* Use Magery skill when needed
* Carry strong weapons (GM or higher)
* Carry poisoned weapons
* Use refresh potions when needed
Hope that helps a bit.

Re: PvP help?
Magic arrow is rather useless for anything besides removing reflect. It has a 1 second damage delay plus it sucks for disrupting spells. Harm is a much more useful. It has instant damage and way more reliable.
Re: PvP help?
AWESOME thank you Lady Aura.
Is heal skill of any use in pvp for dexxers? or would it be better to replace that skill with something else...maybe use magery for healing instead (along w/ pots)?

Re: PvP help?
Start off your match with a weaken usually, thats an instant -10 health. Try to always save your 3 debuffs for instant disrupts, they can buy you another hally hit!

If you're a dexxer, you need healing and anatomy.

Re: PvP help?
explosion ebolt is a good combo, but not a good way to disrupt unless timed right.
practice on a mage friend, what you want to do is keep practicing to disrupt his gheals.. ebolts will work but have a delay, practice debuffing and harm spams followed by hallies and then katanas.
Stopping your opponents heals is probably the most important thing you can do, unless you get high damage combos and hally hits in which case you might kill the opponent without ever disrupting him.

Re: PvP help?
What's the best thing to do when paralyzed (as a mage or dexxer)? Trapped pouches?
Re: PvP help?
trap pouches or precast a magic arrow (target self when para'd) when you see your opponents casting para.

Re: PvP help?
Flamestrike can be very useful as a mage...
Always casting explosion before ebolt is unwise, in many situations.
Make a wand macro, and start killing everyone.

Re: PvP help?
If someone is about to paralyze you or is spamming paralyze you, start spamming a spell, magic arrow is usually a good one.
While casting a spell you are flagged as frozen and paralyze with not affect you.

Re: PvP help?
Worst combo i've ever seen. Do not listen to what anyone says on a forum about learning how to pvp. The best and only way is by watching and practicing...end of story.Work on combo combinations (Magic Arrow, Feeblemind, Weaken, Clumsy, Explosion, Ebolt, Harm, *Pull out weapon*, Harm, Harm, Ebolt, Harm, etc.)
