Blacksmithing/Mining Question

I can't seem to figure out why I'm not able to smelt iron ore?
Tried to look through the forums and can't find an answer, it's probably something silly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Double click the ore and target a forge.

That's all there is to the process.

Here I am using all the tools I can find to try to smelt haha.
