how do you gm resist
few ques:
can you gm resist off a tamed animal such as a dragon?
can you gm resist off a summoned creature such as a daemon/Energy Vortex? And is it effective?
Is it easier to gain a skill, such as resist, before you reach the 700 skill cap.
At 90+ resist, do you still gain from Level 6 or lower spells from something like a liche or elder gazer?
assume that your character has high healing. Is it cheaper to gm resist off a dangerous creature inside a dungeon than
to flamestrike yourself?
Without taming, will an aggro monster follow you into your gate?
Any insights will be appreciated.

Re: how do you gm resist
I've heard of people using wyrms to GM resist and stuff, don't know much about it.
You can make gains the dungeon but in the 90s that will be real slow. In the 80s and 90s, I would recommend just macroing Flamestrike on yourself, maybe even with a second caster to speed things up. Use of three accounts is nice for this (2x casters and one bandie healer).
It goes about like this Fire field to 55, lightning to about 60 some odd resist, then ebolt to about 75 or 80, then Flamestrike to GM. (numbers are approx off the top of my head)

Re: how do you gm resist
You can technically GM resist from magic-casting monsters/pets but it's much quicker to cast on yourself (out of town). Check out the skill guides on this forum.

Best way is to cast FS on yourself and have another caster without eval cast FS as well. Then have a guy with healing heal every 5 secs. It will take roughly 2 1/2 days if your skill is at 80 to hit 100.

0 - 30 = Train from NPC
30 - 55.0 = Firefields
55 - 100 = many options, see below:
The typical way
Cast Energy bolt until about 80 resist. Flamestrike to 100. Use as many casters as you can to speed this up.
The tamer way!
Get a shipload of White Wyrms. Put the boat outside of town. Put a boat inside of town. Get nuked by the white wyrms. Have at least 1 bandage healer for every 20 White Wyrms to maintain maximum uptime. This will take you from 30 (or 55) to 93 in just a couple of hours.
The mage way!
Same idea as the tamer way, but with hired NPC mages. It'll take a bit longer than WWs.

Re: how do you gm resist
Casting FS on yourself is the easiest way and safest way (if your in your own house). It may cost a little, but its the most efficient if you dont have a gm tamer with 20 wyrms.
I do remember resist parties back in the late 90s, where we would get 20-30 people together to cast meteor swarm on each other. However, Im not sure if that method works here. Id love to try it.

Generally the FS way while gaining magery was the generic method I used too.Menkaure wrote:Casting FS on yourself is the easiest way and safest way (if your in your own house). It may cost a little, but its the most efficient if you dont have a gm tamer with 20 wyrms.

Re: how do you gm resist
Would be cheaper but it would take even longer than FS yourself and it will take FOREVER. As in, you will die of old age before you GM resist this way.freakystuff25 wrote: assume that your character has high healing. Is it cheaper to gm resist off a dangerous creature inside a dungeon than

Re: how do you gm resist
I recently GM'd this skill over 3 days (server up to server down) casting with a GM mage, GM med, and Eval. Started with 65 resist skill and a healer with 55 skill.
Used about 10K ea Reg (20k total) for EB to 81 and 6500 bands
From 81-94 used 18K Ea (36K Total) switch to FS 5000 bands
94-100 20k ea (40K total) 8000 bands
.... * these are my estimates based on how many times I had to run to the bulk reg vendor and deed and sell a few misc. houses I had placed. It took well over 350k gold because I was buying overpriced regs and store-bought bolts of cloth.

My 0 anat Healer finished at 82 healing....
