Red named "Spew" can't be attacked?

So me and my friend goto lich lords and see a red named Spew so we decide to gank him UO style.

Well, after casting a spell and targeting my cursor on his bar AND his player's avatar, me and my friend were BOTH unable to attack him. Not even by double clicking him.

I forgot what exactly it said but it gave me a message like "target out of reach".

After this happened I asked him "are you cheating? How come me and my friend can't attack you?". He doesn't answer my question nor say anything, he stands there idle as if he knows that he has invulnerability already.

Now....please explain to me what the meaning of this is? I don't get it, I have never encountered this my whole UO career? Has anyone else come across this player and had this happen or any other players?

Maybe it's a new bug? I am confused. I paged a GM and Derrick said he will look into it.

Just wondering from the rest of you players!

From what I hear, there are some targeting issues with that room.

I believe you can only target up on the ledge of that room if you're directly next to the tile of the person you want to attack. You may even need to be on the very same tile.

You have to cast a spell, run right up next to them and then drop it.

Sorry about the confusion, I got your page earlier but didn't understand that you had been in this room. There is no line of sight in this upper area of the lich lord room. You cannot "see" anything beyond one tile, this includes speech. It's an OSI accurate "Bug".

Most people that played during the '99 era know about this room...

It can be quite confusing for those that never played during this time period inside of that room.

I do remember LOS issues back on OSI with that room but it was from shooting the liches from atop.

I never really ever pvped in the LL room so I never noticed this bug, only got pked and didn't fight back.

I started UO in early 1998 = )
