Prizes have been added to the Newbicus free for all, and the tamer great duel.

I'm looking forward to this. The side events seem like pretty cool ideas.

It sounds all nice on paper if you will, but I'd expect some serious griefing of this event. I wish you luck in getting it going though.

Re: Gladiator (In two weeeks, more details in three days)
This is basically ten on one. Anyone who griefs the match will only get the "You could only kill me because there was 20 of you" post...and indeed it would make anyone who did that look like a wuss. It will lead to a whole bunch of publicized duels with trash talk all littered in it. It will be neverending spam.
Ten on one she will probably die...the odds are against her. If you people want to challenge her after the fact if she wins it would be better for your ego being you wont have to ten on one anyone otherwise already she is opening up the door to alot of ridicule if she loses.
Maybe a large scale battle is in store because of it. There are more grudges out there then just against her. Alot of PVMers will probably have their PVP alts on standby even if they are entered into the events.
It may turn to chaos...but I think that's pretty much what she wants.
Bringing in griefers will only make matters worse...after the event thats when I believe things might get out of control.
You'd make yourself look like Timid Gaynkers I mean terror guard.

Of course there will be grief attempts. But it can be somewhat controlled until the main event. Then I guess no one knows what will really happen, which is in my opinion half the fun.Arkosh Kovasz wrote:It sounds all nice on paper if you will, but I'd expect some serious griefing of this event. I am not one to sit around and make excuses. Whatever happens happens. It is what it is. However I die, if I die, I will not make any excuse about it. I play by a code, the true pvper way.archaicsubrosa77 wrote:This is basically ten on one. And it's not like the people there would have much to lose at the main event. I reckon most of the audience would be whoever participated in the newbicus gladiator event. Which would be guaranteed mounts.

And no I am not calling anyone a wuss or anything like that because the odds are stacked against me. This is personal more than anything but I am glad to make it a part of a larger player run event, for the players of uosa.

Re: Gladiator (In two weeeks, more details in three days)
I am not trying to pass myself off as something great. I want to give the community a show. And give them a show I will. Chances are yes, there will be utter chaos and greif attempts at me. There always is. I prepared this event full well knowing the probabilities of it going sour. It is a risk I am willing to take.
Who knows, maybe we can squeeze in some more fun gladiator type matches. I think the more support and suggestions this event gets from the community I think the better it will be.
Regardless, the show will go on no matter what. I don't care if I am standing out there alone and not one PoV shows up and every other pvper on the shard shows up in one unified attempt to kill me.
Hell, I don't even care if no one shows up for that matter. I will stand there alone in the wind petting Ferisia my brave mount.
Of course I want people to come and participate or just come to hang out or watch. But I know many will not because of their strong dislike of me, but it matters to me not, let them judge.
I leave it up to the rest of you to decide how big this event becomes. I have done all that I can, it is what it is.

Re: Gladiator (In two weeeks, more details in three days)
Well I think PoV if they were as strict in their code of honor as they say they are, would aide you in battle if such a thing happened.
I would respect them more then since after your incident.
If you do not meet the enemy at the level where he stands, then he shall always have the upper hand.
Honor is not shameless sacrifice, that would be suicide.
Rather Honor is a respect for your brethern in battle. Why would you respect your enemy if you caught him unaware then giving him time to prepare costing the lives of your brothers?
If you would not go as far as to take drastic measures to protect the lives of the innocent...then your words ring hollow PoV. You have already been bested by the enemy.
Your beloved virtues are stained with the blood of the innocent that you have allowed to be shed as you hide behind vain aspirations.
Would you not kill those who were forgiven by law their countless murders though they pose as upright citizens of Britannia? Nay indeed you turn a blind eye and allow evil to reign, you serve those who curse your virtues...giving power for evil to rule overall.
Your very words of truth have been used against you like a doubleedged sword or the forked tongue of a serpent. The laws have made you a prisoner, as you choose to serve evil rather then give the call to arms to rebel.

You are probably one of the most intelligent players I have come across yet. This was indeed my entire basis for which I chose to give the order to attack the Protectors of Virtue head on. I couldn't of said it better myself.archaicsubrosa77 wrote:Well I think PoV if they were as strict in their code of honor as they say they are, would aide you in battle if such a thing happened.

I am going to go ahead and make a date for this whole event. It may be altered some during this week. But it WILL happen, regardless if it involves PoV or not. If the main event is cancelled then I guess more focus will be more on the other events leading up to the main event.
November 14th, 2009 is the official date for the event which falls on a Saturday. Times will be made official on the 7th.

Re: Gladiator: Saturday November 14th, 2009. Times TBA.
I read in another thread that Lor may be on a business trip and will not be back till the 6th. So should now by this next weekend know the details on the main event. I have tried to talk to other PoV members about it but I never get a response. Most likely for reasons that only need addressed in the trash talk forums. At any rate I shall come up with more festivities in the meantime, am open to suggestions as well. I want this to be a community project, not just for me or my guild or whatever, and certainly not for some ego boost for me. I want something to happen, something fun to look forward to that is set in stone.
I want this to be extreme and grand, which as you can see perfectly suits my personality.

Lor and the Pov guild have run in fear. The main event will be me and my guildmate versus Hemperor and his guildmate.
The newbicus gladiator event will start a 3pm est.
The main event will start at 5pm est.
