There is plenty of room for housing, aside from keeps and castles. If you need help finding a spot, let me know and for a small fee I'll scout out and find you a few spots.

I started here 2 days ago, the housing is a joke. I ran around last night looking for a spot to place a small house but it seems every decent area is cluttered with houses. With a total of 15 houses available per player this shards growth is in trouble. When I signed up I had no idea there were 3 accounts allowed and a total of 15 houses. There is no reason for a person to have 15 houses or 3 accounts, I can see 2 accounts but there really isn't a reason for 3. 2 to 3 houses per account is plenty, all allowing 15 houses will do is feed peoples greed which in turn will kill the shard just as much as greifing.

I placed a large brick for someone today, and there is an L spot next to it. There is plenty of space, you just gotta look. PM me and I will help you find a nice small spot.

Its era accurate to have it over populated. This is a large reason why the introduce tram, to double housing. Before tram it was HARD to find a house, and even right after tram came out, it cost app. 1mil to buy a small house (in atlantic).

I own almost every single house on the East Moonglow Pennisula.

11 or 12 in all.

I plan to sell them all for a million jillion gold pieces someday.

(I'd be more than happy to co-own to homeless newbs for free however, at least presently. When the market goes up I might start charging exhorbinant rents!)

Living by the teleporter is great, just like living *inside* moonglow. It's a much faster run from glow bank to several of my teleporter houses than it is from glow bank to glow provisioners!

Theres still housing spots available, including several tower spots..
Obviously its not overcrowded then.
And the fact the theres an idoc every day, all sizes. Theres plenty of room.
I say its fine as is..

Not to mention that most people will sell houses for pretty much deed cost.

You must not have run very far then. A few days ago I spent a few hours visiting every corner of Brittania (because I had never done it before). On the way I found a bazillion places for smalls, lots of places for patios/bricks/L's, and even 1 or 2 for towers. True, some of them were in BFE forests/swamps, but some of them were within a few screens of a town. Near Trin, for instance, there are several places in the woods about two screens away where you can only place a small, and no one else would be on that screen.

Personally, I'm kind of sick of people complaining about lack of housing space, for this very reason. If its not outside Brit or a moongate, it's "ZOMG there's no housing anywhere I can't place this shard sux!!11!!!". There is NOT a housing crisis yet. OSI supported more than three times the population, which means approx the same amount of housing (1 account x 5 houses x 3 players = 3 accounts x 5 houses). If there was ever to become a housing crisis, I'm sure a lot of the older players with 15 houses would be more than willing to sell to newer players for deed cost. Like others have said, there's lots of people who co-own new players now.

Also, as far as OSI accuracy, newer players there had the same problem. If you weren't there in the beginning, all the prime real estate was taken. Sorry, but that's just how it goes. First come, first served.

Give me a break this thread is dumb. There will always be room for houses you just need to put some time in to it. There are always idocs going on, there are always people selling houses, there are sometimes even open spots of land. People expect to get a house so quick but sometimes it just takes some time. If you want a certain house you need to earn it. Go find an idoc, bring a ghost, camp it out until you can place a house. Pay extra gold to buy one from a player. At any rate, there is ALWAYS room for small houses. So if anything anyone on the shard can go place a small house literally anywhere. Anything bigger than a small house you will most likely have to put a little time into, but it's not hard at all.

Because I was bored, and to prove how lazy people are:

Britain, 1 screen from guards, 3 from moongate:

Minoc, 1 screen from moongate:

Both spots are free right now, and smalls do fit as ive had houses in both places.
