Create Food
T2A handbook says it's targetable. Demo scripts show the same.

Re: Create Food
they changed that some time in '98 or early '99 when they added the additional foods. It used to be ham only

Re: Create Food
That had to change it b/c everyone was because of mass trichinosis worm infestations.
Re: Create Food
They changed it because of jerks like me. I'd see a newbie ask a powerful mage to summon ham from the earth and then I'd do a driveby eating of said ham, leaving the newbie hungry and the powerful mage down 4 mana.

See proof, that just because its in the demo script doesnt mean its accurate.Hemperor wrote:T2A handbook says it's targetable. Demo scripts show the same.

Right...because there are documented changes.Valdric Flagg wrote:See proof, that just because its in the demo script doesnt mean its accurate.Hemperor wrote:T2A handbook says it's targetable. Demo scripts show the same.

Even if there isnt documented changes, the demo isnt GOD.Hemperor wrote:Right...because there are documented changes.Valdric Flagg wrote:See proof, that just because its in the demo script doesnt mean its accurate.Hemperor wrote:T2A handbook says it's targetable. Demo scripts show the same.

No but it is part of the thought process.Valdric Flagg wrote:Even if there isnt documented changes, the demo isnt GOD.Hemperor wrote:Right...because there are documented changes.Valdric Flagg wrote:See proof, that just because its in the demo script doesnt mean its accurate.Hemperor wrote:T2A handbook says it's targetable. Let me demonstrate:
Create food is targetable in demo
Documented change that create food is no longer targetable.
Simple no?

Re: Create Food
The demo is a very powerful researching tool that is practically indisputable without any documentation to counter it. For example, the issue above was a clear indication of the process to rule out the demo mechanic. However, spell interruption chance is a perfect example of something that would not be possible to replicate without the decompiled demo code. There are a vast amount of other game mechanics besides spell interruption that falls under this category. When there is no documentation to disprove a game mechanic that exists in the demo it's highly likely that it still existed in the t2a era and on many occassions in UO to this very day. A great example of something that still exists in modern EA shards is the equip delay.Valdric Flagg wrote: Even if there isnt documented changes, the demo isnt GOD.
No one here relies solely on the demo for a hundred percent cetainty.
