Oh it's out there just gotta look for it sometimes. Most of the time if you fight a guildmate like ACE, mYm, RIP, T-B, and some other guilds they will tell their guildmates and you'll have a war coming your way. I would say brit graveyard would be your best bet though, just swing by there often and you'll find what your looking for. If you stir up enough trouble there for awhile word spreads and before long people will flock to the graveyard, I've seen it many times. Also hang out in #secondage and #secondagepvp on the irc server to pick up on any action that might be going on as well.

Not to hate on this server or anything because this really is a good place to get your UO on, but PvP here is really not worth the effort.

It's like really wanting that Ferrari, but wind up in a Yugo cause it's the only thing you can afford. Yeah it gets you from point A to point B but still leaves that hollow echo of selfish yearning inside.

Now I remember why T2A PvP was something I didn't really miss. Tank Mage battling is ok but until the special moves was implemented PvP was somewhat limited, also when the inscription and poisoning bonuses were added the PvP templates really opened up and UO was fun again, cept for that Trammel thing, that sucked.

So advice is if you want exciting PvP action, switch to a different shard, if you want a good solid shard to just kick back, chill and enjoy the UO from back when then this is the place. I do both and bounce from one to the other.

Give me a break kid the pvp here is fine, you just have to have the patience to look for it sometimes. Suggesting that someone goto another shard for the pvp is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Who are you in game? I have probably never even seen you in the field. The pvp here is why a lot of people actually stay, and those people have been here the longest. You obviously don't know what the hell your talking about. All I do in uosa anymore is pvp. UOSA has it all, get your facts straight noob.

Wow you really showed me. T2A PvP was tank vs tank and that's about as exciting and varied as your mom's thong collection........well maybe not that exciting. Anywho, I guess back in the day it was exciting when Bob Marley was playing on Lake Superior or ManChild on Great Lakes, they were the best and fun to watch because of their combo prowess, which as of yet has not been seen here except by a rare few.....you know who you are old schoolers  Also, PvP on other shards was and is a bit more exciting, which is an opinion and I'm entitled to that. UOSA is a great shard and I enjoy playing here, it's relaxing and it brings back alot of fond memories of good times in UO before the artifact days which sent UO into a tailspin for me:( Just for the record Josh, that's back when we PvPed on dialup.........woot!

Actually, a lot of people complain about certain aspects of the pvp here, but it won't change because this is t2a style pvp. I do know quite a few people who also play on shards specifically to pvp on. I personally only play on this shard, but it's not uncommon for people to play multiple shards. Of you get your facts straight... noob... you'll realize that many of the pvpers on this shard (which doesn't include you) have made posts trying to get some things tweaked.

Pvp here isn't that great at all in my mind.

And group pvp doesn't exist. World pvp is easy enough to find, but real guild vs guild doesn't happen here. Not since +- was still active along with like t2a, !FS, and even TG when they still zerged, has the action been what it should be. Not sure what is needed to kick start the O/C scene, but atm it sucks, and has for a minute.

The ruleset is ok I guess, I've played much better. the pvp is far from what I would deem perfect, or even close to it, it's too random (dmg) and with the way tabbing/atklast/haly timers work, it doesn't really feel like t2a to me, but its not horrible pvp like hybrid. UOSA is a great shard despite it's pvp shortcomings though. It's the only shard really worth playing atm, and it's the best shard for long term stability imo. UOSA will be here for awhile and it will always be what it is. Derrick is the best you could ever get in a shard admin. He really does a fuck*n' great job.

I agree the pvp isnt great here unless your talking about pk v blue. That in itself is fun though and enough to keep me around. I also agree that Derrick is the best shard admin out there and tries his butt off to get everything right. These guys do a damn good job here on this server imo.

The only real problem with PVP here is the social mindset of the traditional quake style pvper's that have played most of the popular shards in the past. If you include this group of players plus the mentality of the UOR style player like KydVicious above it only makes it that much more worse. There are very little of the true veterans left that played this era over 10 years ago. UOR players enjoy that style of pvp since it's more "diverse" as it's commonly referred too. However, UOR era in my opinion only created multiple classes that is relatively no different than any other mmo out there now. For example, the standard classifications for these type of games.

Class A > B
Class C < B
Class D > A
Class A < B

and so on and so on...

This is why the t2a era is better in my opinion. There are two classes that exist in the game with different variations depending on weapon choice. A dexer and a mage. If you take a look at FPS games such as Counterstrike they are obviously some of the most skillful games in existence and it's not just because you are required to aim. Counterstrike is about very few guns assault rifle or awp 99% of the time in a competitive scene. There are numerous other guns but it's rather wortheless. This limitation makes it less about itemized pvp and about who is better utilizing the exact same template.

Anyways, back on the problem with PVP here. The social mindset is the main problem. Quake style PVPer's want what they're used to from other shards like IPY and Divinity since those were the past large shards that aren't accurate even slightest to any Pre:UOR era. There are too many people that expect you to cater to them just like those other shards or they're out. The learning curve for most is simply too hard. Also, Tron you obviously haven't played here since the dice rolls on spell damage have been corrected. For example, an energy bolt has 8 rolls that makes it relatively impossible to hit an extreme one way or the other. I think the chance was around 3% on the data table if I am not mistaken. The closer it gets to the middle the higher that percentage expands obviously.

The field PVP here could definitely be a lot better, but most of the larger guilds bailed cause they couldn't handle the PVP.

Right Faust. Some things were changed from, for example, [8 * 1d5] to [1d5+1d5+1d5+1d5+1d5+1d5+1d5+1d5], which lowers the variance tremendously.
