Question about Dex and Snooping

Im in the process of creating my first char on this server, and i already maxed out my str to where i need it to be. Now i see that you can do snooping in order to raise your dex, if i have the skill arrow set to down on snooping will i still gain the dex stat, or do i have to gain snooping skill?


Thanks for any input or any other ideas of how i can max it out fast and easy
