Yes, that's a good question...you haven't played on this server in a year, or another server. As the forums state, they are recreating based on t2a accuracy, and they will make every effort to stay true to that. PVP here seems strong, although i'm not a pvp'er cause i can't keep up with these guys. Honestly, most are just better than me. But I think this server is great...plenty of friends to be found. As a matter of fact, I have met many new friends over the past week or so. Seems to be a lot of new people lately. Your best bet is to read the guild forums and find one that is active and matches your play style. Much more fun that way.

yeah populations increase during times of school breaks such as this winter break..
Just log on and play a lil- dont' expect much and you wont be dissapointed.
PVP has changed alot in the last year so if your looking for pvp it's gonna be a lil different but it's pretty active.
idk about any changes to PVM since i don't do any..

PVM is very difficult right now!! You cant go anywhere without people comming in every 10-15 min to mess with ya but if you want to fight pks are all over so you wont have any problem finding them. My suggestion would be to get in a guild and run with guildies to pvp or pvm. This is a great server if your into fighting pks or want to run around with pks. Or make a char to mess with tamers then you can run by yourself and cause alot of havoc for them Unless you just dont know how to play. PvPing against other blues or guild wars are just about non existant unless your farming as there are some that like to try and gank you while your in a tough spot. I play alot have seen maybe 3 guild war fights in the last 2 months. I dont mean to turn you away and hope you come to stay but I am just being honest with you as to what you have to look forward to. I have not been in a blue v blue fight without having pks jump in to help out the person/s I am fighting. Just find a good guild to join and you will be fine. Also if its been a year for you the tamers have been nerfed big time since you stopped playing.

I disagree with the PvM statement.

What it should say is if you want the prime spots all to yourself, it's not going to happen. There's plenty of PvM going on, but there are also plenty of reds hitting the popular spots so you'll need to be ready for them.

Personally, I'm able to hit most spots, make some kills, and get out without being pk'd. Sometimes there's someone there or a red there, and sometimes a red will come in while I'm fighting... but that's UO.

I'll hafta agree with Zane to an extent. PvM isnt overly difficult at the moment, at least in the overland areas I like to frequent as long as I adhere to my system, i.e. if anyone is there, go somewhere else, if I see corpses, go somewhere else, dont linger any longer than it takes to get a decent load of loot, ID everything right away...if anything is particularly nice...bank immediately, load up once and go somewhere else after banking..let the spot 'cool down', and if Im noticed by anyone, even a seemingly friendly blue, finish up and switch spots, he might be out scouting for his red, oh, and if ya see anyone with an IRL guild tag, so someplace else, thats a goon guild, and they are sure to be trouble....lol I think in my 60-70 days here so far I have been PK'd 4 times, once by a blue, other than a few times being harassed by a couple at my shop, its been fairly quiet. I think my wifes been clipped about as many times as I have. Not really a big deal here if you know how to avoid it.

I purposely avoided soloing in any dungeon during the T2A era, because it never ended well for me, but always found overland spots to be good to me so using the same logic here was natural. I have been amazed just how well I have been able to do now that Im a newbie again with years of knowledge under my belt, and the PK'ing here is far more rampant than it was on Sonoma back when I started. I do know to avoid the Covetous lich room, I got PK'ed in there a few weeks back, but that was on purpose (a non-player friend was over one afternoon and after indulging in some green, thought it would be funny to watch someone PK me so I obliged) it was a blue/red team and well coordinated. While OOoOOOo'ing my way out I noticed several ghost cams so that place is blanketed. Im sure most dungeon spawns are covered as well.

I just got pked for the first time in 7 months while farming 2 days ago. So yea you can farm and yea you can run but its alot harder to farm right now than it normaly is and if your ok with 8 to 10k and then move heck more power to you. Honestly I have found it hard to find an open spot and when I do I get about 15 min if I am lucky before pks come rolling in. So its not easy right now especially for tamers as they are always trying to drag your drags away from you which of corse is how I died. Trying to get my last drag out with 3 pks after me but I have to say my wife came in and cleaned them up for me killing all 3 :P. I farmed as much on UO as I do here and I never once gated my drags out unless they brought drags or if there happened to be a huge group of them which I only saw a few times. Even then I didnt tend to gate as it was worth trying to take 1 or 2 down before they killed me. Anyways I gave him a farmers perspective of whats happening and I hope he gets on and plays just dont try and make him think its going to be easier than it is because if he comes back with the idea its going to be cake getting gold and that he isnt going to have a problem finding alot of pople to fight outside of pks he is going to be disapointed. But if he comes back knowing what he is up agianst maybe he will stay.

From my understanding Pk's are just leaving ghosts in hotspots as to keep from actually having to look for people. But I don't know, that's just what I've read.

I'm not exactly sure of the accuracy of these statements either. I know there's some people making the claims, but I have not experienced it myself, nor have I heard too many people say they can confirm the ghosting. I do believe some people are using this lame method, but I also think some are just victims of pks and refuse to believe that they just got caught.

Here's my biggest beef with those 3 spots. Those are 3 very popular spots that get a lot of pk attention anyway. I've been nailed at 2 of them without the aid of ghosting (I've just gotten better at getting away now lol). Ghosting is a lame way to game, but you're asking for pk attention there regardless.

That, and I've run LL room a lot and have never had a problem with the ghost problem. Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying I haven't had a problem with it.

If I see red, I usually precast recall and see what their intentions are. More often then not I recall away, but I can go back after a couple minutes.

Anyway, I'd rather not go down this route anymore with this discussion. I believe this server is great both in it's goals and the way it's run. Every server has its trouble spots, and I believe these are minor in comparison to most.

This is a PVP shard not a PK shard...

Unless you are at a severe disadvantage under whatever circumstances you won't die easily to another player. So if you want to PVP you can if you want to run off you can do that too.

PVP here takes skill. Some people hate that. Thats also one reason Gank squads are the thing for PKs.

Please dont start saying that....This is a T2a Shard, and everything that entails. The last shard i was one suckered close to 1000 people in by saying t2a and then they all found out it was a pk shard.
