Like I tell every new player I come across, one of the best and low-risk ways to make money is fishing. You can gain up to around 93 from the shore, and then you can start fishing up lvl 1 T-Maps and at GM, MiBs. The T-Maps are great for newer chars because of the low risk vs potentially high reward (I've gotten a few good vanqs from lvl 1s). MiBs are extremely low risk, high profit...the only thing you have to watch out for is pirates!Gracekain wrote:As far as economy goes, being able to multi client has killed the economy. Who needs to buy GM amour, potion kegs, bows, arrows/bolts, ingots, boards when people are allowed to just macro the skills they need on one of 3 accounts? And yes, i also mean resource gathering. There are a few programs out there (well known ones) that allow afk resource gathering and i seriously doubt people do not use them. A simple fact that there is NO market for resources proves this.
Also, when working on your smith, a great way to make money is selling chain coifs. I hit 60 skill making them (from 30), and made tons of money recalling around to different vendors and selling them. Sure, mining that much is a bitch, but you can do it while running another char (hence the beauty of multi-clienting).
Between these two methods, I've made tons playing just quasi-casually...somewhere between 2-10 hrs a week, depending on the week. I now own a well-placed L outside Trin, a nice Yew gate vendor, several boats, a small on JRC beach, and have enough banked for a tower and then some. That's also spending lots helping out new players, and doing various other "throw away" activities.
Note: AFK Fishing from shore is no longer allowed
