Gaining skill on this server.

Hi, I used to play this server and today decided to pop on to see what's going on. Here's what's going on: I'm trying to work two characters that are at equal skill (both at 80 skill in everything, guess why) and they have been going at each other for about 20 minutes now with only .1 skill gain in wrestling and none in tactics.

What is the best way to gain in melee? Do I need to punch someone with more or less skill than myself? Should the character being punched, punch back? Thanks in advance.

Best way is probably off of hireling npcs.

The fastest I've seen by far for wrestling gains is to hire a Mage NPC and beat on him. I GMed wrestling this way in under a few hours. I was using a paladin before and the gains were extremely slow.

Wow. Where'd you hire the mage from? Definitely gonna do that tonight. Took me like 8-10 hours of macroing with 100 dex to get to 80 swords and 80 wrestling, from a paladin

not 100% sure were you can hire a mage .. I would look in places like moonglow or wind, the mage type towns.

yeah, I ended up finding them in magincia. They take forever to spawn, so I had to attend my macro for a while and make sure were not going to die. I had to bandaid every 6 seconds to avoid killing them.. with 70 healing/GM anat.

Gains on swords/wrestle were amazing though, it took about 3-4 hours of macroing to GM both wrestle and swords from...
80 -> GM swords
72 -> GM wrestle

Due to some ridiculous stroke of luck, I woke up and saw my bandys ran out at 99.9 tactics... woot
