'Man on a Mission' SXSW Screening

Post by Teknix »

So the movie about Richard Garriott going into space got selected to be screened during SXSW. I am going to it cause 1) it will be badass 2) i want to advertise the server to people i see standing around

Please help me create something I can put down on a piece of paper (maybe 4" x 4" or 10cm x 10cm for yall up north) that i could hand out to people. I think that a majority of the people going to see that will have played UO and at least one person will probably like the idea of playing a T2A server. Any thoughts or ideas on what this flyer should have would be much appreciated.

ps i might have an extra ticket if i cant get a hold of my buddy..

I want to give people something they can hold onto. I'm not worried about printing these up or costs involved.

Possibly just make some changes to the original box cover of t2a so no copy right stuff and the back of the flyer in big font type directions to our website, login and port, and our slogan.

Something like this?

Pamphlet.jpg
I know someone more creative can top this but it seems simple and to the point. So your gonna print this or something like it up and hand it out? Maybe a nice high gloss finish, Gold leaf inlay and a holographic dragon. Nice.

i like arcott's idea of some sort of high gloss graphic on the front (i want to avoid copyright stuff, old english type font would be fine imo) and then 'basic' info on the back. i can get some artist/friend in austin to draw up some graphic if the front side of the handout if someone doesn't offer a suggestion

the info on the back is what i'd like to narrow down.

1) http://www.uosecondage.com
2) 1999 Replica Server
3) Dedicated staff
4) blah blah give me suggestions

Are you trying to get UOSA business cards of sort? Like, professionally printed? That is something that I can help out with.

for a business card like format (wide and short) just use the banner from the homepage and overlay some text. the URL (uosecondage.com) will probably be the most interesting part because a lot of people will have to read up on getting the client etc. first.

Please, I cannot stress this enough, please make sure NOTHING you distribute has copyrighted material. This can be tricky but a good rule of thumb is, if you see it on a EA, OSI, original UO box, website, its copyrighted. The U atop the O and the picture of the dragon breathing fire onto the fighter I'm almost 100% certain is copywrited.

Why would it matter at a festival like that?

EA isn't going to be present there waiting with lawyers.
