The Kingdom Is Real Project [ISR] - RP Guild Project
I've been tossing this idea around for awhile and was curious if you might be interested in starting an extremely democratic medium RP guild.
The idea is basically such:
*Basic accessible guild house which every member is co-ownered to. No valuables are stored here.
*Anyone in the guild can put there name forward to be Guildmaster.
*The Guildmaster may change at any time.
*All nominees have there names titled in books with short write-ups about there candidacy inside. These books are kept near the Guildstone.
*All members must have sworn fealty to one of these candidates at all times.
*You may nominate people. You may not however swear fealty over to them until they have accepted and there book put up.
*All titles must be RP related
*Guildmaster may not change titles unless approved by member.
*Guildmaster may not kick members unless openly chatted with and agreed upon.
*Inactivity extends beyond two weeks without notice your kicked.
*Loose RP rules ( e.g. Screw reds! is ok lulz! is not)

Sounds interesting but what is the story behind the guild? Is it like an emulation of a democratic community of all sorts of people?

I'm interested in seeing if a guild can be made this dynamically and sustain because of it. Right now someone may come up with a great RP guild idea but as soon as that person is gone so is the guild.Sounds interesting but what is the story behind the guild? This would be a general collective for RPrs to work within and be able to develop and put into power there own regimes.
For example say Tom, Dick and Harry are running things and Jeb, McManus and johnnyfive want to run things differently. Well they need to pick which one they want as guildmaster and try to rally guild support behind them to hold some kind of majority.
This not only ensures an active guild master but ensures an inactive one will be replaced.
Also doing this in an RP sense will create all sorts of interesting scenarios.
As for "RP Story". I figured I'd whip something up if people were generally interested in the idea.

I view guilds as purely social things, maybe with a protective element. I'd be hesitant to join any guild in which a guildmaster was actively running ANYTHING - that would make the guild way too serious. I would just giggle and resign if I ever saw anyone actually taking it seriously. If you make a guild, don't let "who has the power" be at the top of your priority list or you will fail IMO.

The "who is running it" is primarily for RP purposes. I wouldn't suggest this for a normal guild. This is to create a dynamic element to story progression and character development within the RP context of the guild. I apologize for not having any solid examples of this. If you're involved in the UO RP community you might be familiar with the Grimmwold shard. They have a similar system for their towns.

I dunno ...... just my personal preference but I would only hang out with a guild with effectively no mission. Maybe I'm an anarchist who just needs a little structure LOL.

I think a community in which such ideas are used off-game would be more effective. That is, establishing a role-play community as opposed to a guild that simply changes. In this way, guilds (instead of a players) would determine the RP political climate, and those already established guilds wouldn't be left out because they can't join this stone to have their hand in the politics of Britannia.

Not to my knowledge, which is a shame. I think the best we got is individual guild forums/sites and just the general guild recruitment forums.
