Why even * stuff out? You read n****r as the word "" in your head. Does it really make you feel better to be an overly sensitive bleeding heart? A word is a word, it is just letters and vocalizations, they don't mean anything on their own. What matters is the intent behind and the context in which they are used.

Why, in a serious discussion about words, do we call the "f" word and the "n" word. As if typing it or vocalizing it within the context of the discussion is offensive.

Having said that I think player harrassment is something that should be a bannable offense. If someone is following you around calling you a name report them and they should be dealt with. Using the heavy hand of authority to regulate speech is stupid though. Use filters and ignore if it bothers you, but seriously, just don't feed the trolls and they will go away. If it didn't bother people to be called something then people would stop saying it.

And talking about racism is laughable when you know most of the remarks, such as the "n" word are used as taunts and nothing more. What do you expect with a generation of people who listen to garbage rap music where the so called artists call each other out as . If you really want to stamp out foul language stop playing UO and go through your kid's, younger sibling's, and younger relatives bed rooms and take away the garbage rap music.

Its funny how use of the "n" word is offensive to black people and yet the only reason the word is so widely used is solely the result of its use by black people in rap music.

Some day all people will understand each other and we won't have these problems. Some day a word will be a word and no one will think twice about it.

The internet is never good when you are trying to find judgment of people, mainly because it's anonymity gives people power over others that you just don't find in the real world. If someone with true power were to make his/her decision to destroy the world and used the internet....we would all burn for a million years.


While censorship may seem weak to some here....allowing the oppressors to move forward and actively hurt others is just as evil as the oppressors themselves. Freedom of speech is one thing, abuse of speech is another. There's a reason people aren't allowed to go on TV and say some things...and it has nothing to do with Political correctness, it's to avoid the ego stroking of people who could be dangerous and allowing them to find each other to do mass harm.

What would you all do in a real life scenario where someone is mentioning words that offend you?

Would you:

A. Remove yourself from the situation
B. Page a GM and file a harassment complaint
C. Be so fed up, you log off of reality
D. Post on online forums about language that offends you
E. Throw rocks at that person yelling "lightning bolt"

They are just words. I think if any major change to prevent it was put in place, you'd see a sharp increase.
