Gotta say, if it weren't for the PKs, dungeons would be dull. After I survived 1 PK attack and made the original post in this thread, I fell prey to two others later in the day. As much as it was irritating, I barely lost 2k of gold/equipment each time, and I only got ganked because there were two or more people against me and my recalls kept getting interrupted. PK's are like dung beetles and other scavengers; completely necessary, but often disgusting. I got nailed during my 3rd round at Fire Temple and then again in the OL room in Wrong.

Tbh, people who aren't able to get started on the server due to getting PK'd are just going into dungeons too soon. I lost maybe 4k of regs/cash/armor today, but made about 30k during a mere handful of farming trips on my bard.

Without the risks, the rewards wouldn't be worth anything. Trammel sucks.

I appreciated the tip about equipping a weapon to interrupt one's own spellcast; I had forgotten that since I played OSI.

What spells here should be afraid of, in terms of interrupting my attempts to recall out? When I died in the OL room I immediately went for my recall button (which autotargs my town rune) but I was continually interrupted. What were they doing/casting to cause that? I couldn't figure it out in the 4 seconds I was running and trying to get recall to go...

100k is like nothing here too, what is the difference? Especially when people get paid to pvp, like they do here.
okay give me 100k then =)

And in all honesty, I beg to differ. Just take a look at the trade forums. It's obvious that even 10k of gold has value. People would not be trading these items if they thought they were worthless. They'd be dropping it on the ground.

Spells that cause > # damage. I forgot how much. But I think low damage (like magic arrow) doesn't interrupt like it did in some eras. So flamestrike, energy bolt, explosion, lightning... harm too?
edit: I found this on the boards, don't know if it's outdated:

I thought anything that did damage will interrupt, I know fireball and lightning do...I could've sworn i've been interrupted by pretty much every damage spell, even magic arrow though I know harm is the most popular.

Indeed, it's also about naming your char FetuSpOoPMonkey, rez killing, calling everyone newb, and spending alot of time arguing on #secondage and these forums.

I'm joking of course, I know pk's (and just full loot, ability to attack anyone in general) are an integral part of the game and keep things exciting...but the balance here does seem tilted to me.

I love the shard, but I can totally understand how new people get frustrated...
Aren't you a PK?

When I hunt on my bard at Terra Keep I always fight back when jumped by Pks. Using the avengers to my advantage is a great help.

Here is a shot of me killing Disastro and GM Zipper head.

Only be pk'd about 4 times between 3 characters, one I went looking for the guy. Once I died when in Wind. Ute die and Pony Playstation came in behind me and I got stuck running between the rocks. Ute casted wall of stone as Pony wailed on me with ebolt and hally but I recalled and as I did I died in town which was cool. Usually I farm feathers in Covetous and you can always see a red coming so I just recall out.

Wow well played. Yeah Tera keep sucks - you can't recall out of the Balron room for some reason, but they can recall into the area just before it, so you're a sitting duck.

I always follow up with harm after my first ebolt hally hit to disrupt the recall. It works just about every time but is sometimes resisted and the caster gets the spell off.

Trapped pouches + horse + solid connection = never getting caught

So, its lame to tell stories of how you got away. It would be much more interesting to hear stories of how a PK was actually able to catch a PVMer with a brain.

That's a cute little quip. A PK'r with a brain knows to descend at a critical moment and lots of them travel in packs. A PK'r with a brain interrupts the recall cast, hence the posts a few above discussing that same issue.
Obviously, you're either not a PK'r, or you don't have a brain. Take your pick! :) :) :) (Both is also a choice if you'd like.)

He's just grouchy because he thinks having a horse = never ever die. I know we've got some PKs reading this thread, what do you guys reckon? Have any of you ever managed to somehow drop a mark who was using unbeatable tactics like being mounted?
