definately.

I almost never see armor breaking here. You used to not be able to finish a dexer 1v1 without something breaking.

Actually, I feel like it breaks reasonably correctly.

I think people back in the day ran around with more heavily-worn armor. Here, everyone and their brother has a blacksmith alt. Back then, you had to give your plate chest to the guy standing at the Britain forge, and hope he repaired it and gave it back.

Anyways though, I definitely have lost an invulnerable heater and an invulnerable chain tunic in separate 1v1 battles against macer's. It takes maybe 5 minutes of fighting to go from new to broken.

Macing did break armor faster back then, shields broke ALOT quicker that's why you had to have about four shields on you when you fought a macer. Then the armor started to go, I couldn't go 1v1 with a macer without losing close to two pieces of armor. It was more brutal than here.

It seems like most things melee here are nerfed (regardless of how many e-mails people have or have not received from Stratics or reverse coded from a "demo" disc or have tried to justify or substantiate based loosely on certain individual's "research") fact remains the melee mechanics here are nerfed, halberd was the slowest damn weapon ever and COULDN'T be recycled off your wrestling timer and katana was a brutal mageraper, hands down the fastest weapon you could use, kryss came in a close second and would kick out higher random damage than the katana, but for pure speed the katana beat it.

There were NUMEROUS debates back in '98 about which one was better and that was the general concensus regarding the two weapons.

I digress, back to the subject, Macer/Parry warriors were simply a bad thing to run into with another dexxer due to the fact that if you survived the encounter you were going to lose a few shields and pieces of armor. It was something you wore your GM shit for cause anything of value was going to take a hella beatin.

Not to toss any fuel on the fire, but since the katana nerf several months ago, the broadsword IS the best 1 handed sword weapon, by far.

That can't possibly be accurate.

Everytime I get into a 1v1 with a macer, I end up having to repair most of my armor afterwards. Its getting to the point where I'd rather avoid macer fights because of the constant repair.

I recall being lucky if you could get into a fight without your chestpiece or shield being completely destroyed.

If you are saying that Katana was the faster than the kryss then you are off base.

I'm not saying that at all.

I'm saying that with current UOSA mechanics, the broadsword > Katana, and the Kryss >>>>>>>>>> Katana to the point where everyone high end changed to daggers.

Something is wrong
