Re: uo economy guide
In all the years that I played on Chesapeake (from beta until a short time after trammel was introduced) I can count on one hand the number of vanquishing weapons I ever equipped in the field. If not that few, I guarantee it was no more than a single digit. There was that one day that I lost 2 vanq War Forks in a 10 minute span... =/
They were extremely rare and NOT intended to be used as standard issue equipment.
The problem isn't the drops. The problem is with the mindset of the children playing UO these days.
99% of the time, I was out there with GM-made weaponry. If not, it was some random 2/2/2 or 2/3/2 item, but hardly ever was it a 3rd tier or higher item. I wasn't alone. The great thing about UO is that equipment was made to be lost. Too many kids are living in a EQ/WoW mindset nowadays.
Hell, in the true glory days of UO, we were out there in vendor-quality ringmail or things that we quite literally found lying on the ground half the time.
Today, it's all too black/white. You either have the template copied exactly, right down to the equipment, or you're a "noob"
It's ok to PvP with weapons of might, kids. No one is going to think less of you. At least, no one that you should give two shits about.

I do not know if the events ran here are lootable, or if you keep your items, or if the GM's issue items to you . . . But this is the place to show off your prized collection of weapons and armor. Or, simply wear the items around the towns (if not in a guild at war) to show a presence. Other then that, don't be upset to lose the items, and like Slade said, a good template with a GOOD player behind the keys needs nothing more then dirt crap weapons and armor.
GM made items should be plenty for the proper hot-keys and character configuration!
