Ice White Hair
Re: Ice White Hair
i think they should add the neon hairs in. Its a nice way to get rid of gold. Make poker tables to, Texas hold em for the win. Make it where each hand they (the dealer, NCP) takes out a small %. Also to decrease the amount of gold. Then again, who am i ? My silly ideas!!
Re: Ice White Hair
Look, the argument is no longer should we allow it... it's more who's more noob/trammy? The second you all can look beyond simple PvP, and allow the things that others enjoy (others meaning those people that also play the game for various reasons, some not even to do with pvp itself) is about the same time you'll probably get laid...
From the looks of things, the trammies have it correct this time. So Mr. "I wantz to be a vetz too" where you at, the name calling has reached it's peak.

Your input on this subject has been extremely helpful scoobydoo. About as helpful as a frog is to a fly.

Re: Ice White Hair
The argument isn't about neon hair. Neon hair was part of Clean Up Brit, and was quite cool. Neon hair was achievable by exchanging reward tokens for special hair/beard dye in the Clean Up Brit system.
However, later in time EA added 500,000 gold hair/beard NPCs. These included ice white hair. Ice white hair is scum.
I still think it should be retrospectively removed, call it symbolism and give people with ice white hair some new hair dye.

Re: Ice White Hair
Alright, now we're getting somewhere. I was unaware the Ice White Hair wasn't in during T2A. I thought all those different hues were brought in at the same time? Any rate, I still stand firm on the whole colors don't affect my game, but if it truly is a sore spot for most players, I am willing to accept whichever way it goes.
I just don't want this to turn into a 'that's too tram' war, which is where it was heading. But thanks to you its back on track.
More constructive criticism imo, it is needed from all players.

you have won means rea. scooby ur a fool.Derrick wrote:Wow, looks like I arrived at this party a lil late.
I'm wasn't aware that the colors on our special hair dye weren't accurate. I'll remove the inaccurate hues but I won't change existing colors for people that have already obtained them.
http://uo.stratics.com/content/misc/hairdye.shtmlAlso known as neon hair dye this first came around from the "Clean Up Britannia" ticket system back in '99 and was brought in towards the end of 2000 as a gold sink. However in the new Bright Hair Dye you can now also have Ice White hair

Re: Ice White Hair
As one of the owners of ice white hair I am completely for doing away with it's availability. I will now be at least 20X more awesome due to the fact it will be unachievable by anyone else. This boosts my UO credibility rating and retrospectively my e-persona which I try to reinforce.
Re: Ice White Hair
Congrats on your hair... so now do we get to have Pure Black Hair for a week?
You can't just leave it in game, especially if others cannot attain it. Give them any other option they choose, but one that is era accurate. If I cannot gain from this, no one will

From the perspective of someone who gets knots inside their stomach when thinking about how utterly ruined UO became, seeing the symbol of UO's demise roaming around a pre-UO:R shard is sickening to me.
Notice how it was added as a way to remove gold from the game. At the point of introduction not only was the game completely ruined in terms of the ruleset changes, but duping and other exploits on a mass scale had left UO in a state of no return- it was dead.
Ice white hair champions this era, and has no place in anyone's UO:T2A experience.

Re: Ice White Hair
lol this may be unbelievable but my rl friend was like the first dude to figure out duping. we were stocking up on regs one day at papua and moonglow and he got stuck. he ended up duping and selling so much gold on ebay he bought his first car when he was 16 from it. he made $3200. im sure the IRS never heard a peep of it haha. On that subject I can agree with your opinion here I do not think neon hair / ice white hair represents this era.Mens Rea wrote:From the perspective of someone who gets knots inside their stomach when thinking about how utterly ruined UO became, seeing the symbol of UO's demise roaming around a pre-UO:R shard is sickening to me.

Re: Ice White Hair
Blackholing was a real shit. What's even worse is that it went on for months and months before EA did anything about it. Who would have thought mass duping would lead to the collapse of the UO economy????
It was a good little bug too... Leaving a check in your bank until a server save, then making yourself blackhole by running across server lines, or gating yourself back and forth to a house with 100,000s of items to mess the server up. The server would save different things in different orders, so you would end up with a character with a check and a check in your bank.
Anyway, I think the best solution is to remove it and give out era-authentic "special hair dye" which had some neon choices but not the disgusting ice white.

Re: Ice White Hair
As suprising as this may be, duping was around long before T2A was. If you get the chance, read some of the early House of Commons chats on stratics. There are discussions in there about dupers, and duping methods being fixed. The reality is that duping has pretty much existed throughout the history of UO, it was just a matter of how easy it was to do.oliVeR wrote:lol this may be unbelievable but my rl friend was like the first dude to figure out duping. we were stocking up on regs one day at papua and moonglow and he got stuck. he ended up duping and selling so much gold on ebay he bought his first car when he was 16 from it. he made $3200. im sure the IRS never heard a peep of it haha.
