Help wanted

Post by indecrix »

Hello all,

Im new to this shard and from what ive read it seems like something id love to play and tell my friends about.
I have a slight problem however, and i hope someone here can help me.
I installed uo mondains legacy, complete reinstall...
installed a compatible razor version...
patched up to 5.8...
but my client hangs at verifying account.

Ive tried changing the patching version a few steps (as this helped on other shards)
Ive changed the account credentials (in case the account was already there)
and ive followed other steps in the topic that regards the whole login business. Still nothing seems to work.

Does any of you have a clue of what might be the problem? or has someone experienced this before and knows a fix?
If more info is needed ill be glad to post it.

Thanks in advance,
Idecrix.

Yes, the ip is spelled correct.
Also i manually pointed all the files and folders to the correct locations in razor.

Oke a little update...
I installed the specially compiled version made available by this shard (you know the old version) because i thought it might be my uo ml version that jammed the login. However it still hangs at verifying account.
Im quite clueless to what the problem might be, i hope someone here knows a solution becuase im eager to play this shard :D

you might need .net framework, it's needed for razor.

Getting hung at verifying account can if you already have 4 connections to the shard, or if your IP is banned. Likely not the case, but worth a guess if you're in a dorm room especially.

Make sure your encryption settings in Razor are correct, and that you don't have ISP or router blocking on port 2593.

If you can't get in, hit me up in IRC and I'll try to help

After meeting Derrick on irc and following some instructions he gave me the problem turned out to be a conflict between previous versions...

To fix this, ill describe exactly what i did.

- Uninstall all uo versions, delete all dirs that are left behind.
- Uninstall razor (probably not needed, but its in my sequence).
- In registery search for "Ultima" and "Origin", delete all keys of wich you sure refer to ultima.
- Reboot.
- Install uo (in my case the torrent with old files) and update if nescessary.
- Update uo to desired/required version. My case it was 5.0.8.3 with the supplied patch.
- Install latest version razor (google: "uo razor").
- Reboot (just to be sure).
- Try running uo.

In my case this fixed the problem and im able to play now.

Thanks Derrick for your excellent help and support!

regards,
idecrix
