What's with everyone hiring paladins to gm swords/wrestle? they take like 3x as long to gm combat skills against than an npc mage

I'm no Karik, but, it could be even cheaper. Swds, tactics, eval int, and wrestling can be GM'd very cheaply hiring an NPC paladin. 5k tops.

Magery, resist and meditation are a bit more expensive but nowhere close to 75k

Here is precisely how many of each reagent it took for me to get from 50.0 to 100 magery.

50.0 - 62.9 ----- 0666 Lightning regs (Mandrake root + Sulphurous Ash) (7gp's)
63.0 - 81.9 ----- 1720 Ebolt regs (Black pearl + Nightshade) (7gp's)
81.9 - 100 ------ 4524 Flamestrike regs (Sulphurous Ash + Spider's Silk) (6gp's)

Which puts us at 43,846 gp's for Magery, resist and meditation; plus the 5k aproximately used to hire the Paladin, we're at 48,846. Granted, you might not have GM'ed resist and/or meditation by then, but surely you can sneak in to a public resist session, and buy a couple bottles of booze, and still have 25k+ left over from the 75k to buy yourself a nice little hally. Or use that 25k and buy 4,166 FS regs, and you will surely GM resist by then.

I think that someone would buy it if they had the cheese. I know making a new char is not that expensive... and Im sure most people would do it. However, the convenience of keeping your chars same bank, same macros, same houses, same friended houses, etc. etc.

I guess would be worth it, for some person out there... those are the only benefits that I can really see. Hell, id be interested if it just wasnt 750k. Maybe like 375k...

You can spend 12 minutes to gather 30 bolts of cloth just by using a runebook with all the cotton field locations - you should never ever have to buy bandages.

I don't see why everyone is flaming the price. Getting one with trophies is much more expensive and there ARE characters out there that cost more than 750k. A tamer with neon hair / beard or someone with the old neon white hair that doesn't want to be recognized could use this. There are people out there who may want to change there name due to reputation issues that have the money and don't feel like putting in the time to make a new character. If you don't want it don't bid.
