Help on my first character build...

Post by StDrahcir »

I'm trying to figure out how to build my first character to make money. I know that I want him to have provoke so I can make money easier/faster. I'm not sure what all I will go fight, but I don't have any money or a place where I could macro magery so magery is out of the question for now. I'm more than happy to put the work in to build myself up. Just need help on suggestions for skills.

So far I have...

(Edited per suggestion below...so...)
100 Music
100* Provoke (its around 97)
100* Anat (not 100 yet...)
100* Resist
100* Mace
100* Tactics
100* Healing

*do not have 100 in it yet, its my goal.

Not sure what else I should get. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Any idea how to raise healing? Its slow as sin to raise.

I wonder if I could cut out or reduce something by 10 or so so I can get magery up to 20 for recall purposes.

Healing rises to 70 with the help of magic wizard hat (20 gold in mage's shop).
Put it on (-5str), then off (+5str), then apply bandage.
Macro it overnight with enough bandages.
If you are tight with funds - collect wool, cotton and flax, and weave cloth yourself.

After 80 healing 80 anat ask a friend to park a ghost somewhere, and macro its resurrection overnight (ghost does not need to do anything).

I think you can go with 90 resist/95 anat/95 healing/20 magery - for pure pvm purposes this should be enough.

I like that. I think I can do that. Resist will be a pain to get up, but ah well.

Music
Prov
Peace
Hiding
Anat
Healing
Magery

I would assume that you would eventually want to build magery. This is what I would start with, since I know what ill be provoking won't be phased by my melee hits. Peacemaking is great since it allows you to hide around corners and such, and hiding goes with that. Anat and Healing are there to 'hopefully' prevent death. Once you have enough money to get magery to GM that's when you get rid of other skills and put in eval/med/resist... just a thought.

That's a really good suggestion and idea. Thank you! I will do that once I have enough money to get Magery to GM.
