Getting rid of guild chat?

Post by Boondock_Saint »

I heard that guild chat and group chat is going away. I really think that's a bad idea. If anything it helps the guild stay together and communicate easily. I'm sure it has its cons as well, but I really like being able to chat with guild members without opening a third party program.

You can, it's called ingame chat. You can even password protect chatrooms if I'm not mistaken (I could be)

In game chat works, can be minimized to a tiny red dot, you can have moderated guild chat rooms etc

Red dot even glows when there's a new message on *most* clients

Not nearly as useful as typing \ hey we're at skara bank!

Instead of using in-game chat people are going to use IRC, which is fine for you IRC users. But it takes away from the atmosphere and immsersion of the game.

Some people are creative and have an imagination, please don't force those people to use IRC.

Yes some of these people even figured out ways to make bots follow guild chat commands. Leading to the bot problem with have had in the past.
