PvP "apprenticeship"

Post by rouss »

After dying a couple of times on my hally mage today 1v1, I decided to learn how to pvp a bit. I know the basic theory, I just need practice, so I'm looking for "apprenticeship", I'd like to learn all the ins and outs. I'll provide all the resources needed. If anyone is interested in helping me out, drop me a line on forums or IRC.

Thanks!

Wait for the combat changes (swing timer fixes) to take place. *exited*

Don't worry about waiting for the pvp patch because that could be a 1-3 months away for all we know.

Even learning the current system will help you out a little. That is... as long as you aren't one of those pvpers who depends on hally spamming/out-mana'ing/harm to win a fight then you're in good shape. Hally spamming will hardly be useful next patch, spells will be the main thing so try to use spells as much as possible right now. And spend more time meditating, there's no reason to do constant DPS with hallies in a mage fight...especially on the field. If your opponent doesn't play that way, then it's a mutual understanding that as mages you both like to meditate. Playing hally spam with 20-30 mana the whole fight is silly.

PM me a time and I'll practice with you and give you some pointers. Tips are welcome = P

I can't do a full membership right now though.

the best ideas: to not waste your mana in one dump.
to toggle war mode so you don't waste your swing.
time your spells like explosion, and your pots accordingly to your melee output.
harm and lightening are your friend.
pre healing is OKAY if your getting rocked by a powerful weapon.
live/die and learn i suppose :P
