For me, I think the novelty of the chest would wear off maybe after 2 log ins (not to mention rushing to log in after crashing). Character creation screen also changes too right? I prefer the new one with organized skin tones instead of sliders (I'm very picky about hue and undertone and only like about 3 skin tones). But it would be optional (the chest screen) if it was made available, right? Then no worries =)
The chest "opening" could be skipped using options. I imagine he'd have to add that in, it was just as fast as the login current screen!

Yea, Razor already skips the animation of the chest opening on the modified client I am using. Again it causes no crashes or slow down. Like Psilo said it is just as fast as the 4.x login screens.

Nice find :)

Yes the files are all in there, and I believe completely compatible.

And also, maybe could revert the map0.mul , statics0.mul and staidx0.mul back to the T2A era, which means the Cove Bank and the fort above Destard would be removed etc. Also Magincia would be restored.

The only thing left after that would be the roof tops of the buildings to be changed back to it's original graphic. Then we would have a 100% T2A feeling shard :)

You can download a copy of the CD here via torrentL
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1579317/29642781/
I do not reccomend using this client to connect to UOSA anymore though, our latest installer is far superior.

Yea, Derrick I tested this out and it is in fact the case. I actually installed UO 97 release, the did T2A upgrade so I have all of the old features running wonderfully. If anyone wants a process on how I did this I will try to post it in a few days.

The link above still seems to be seeded: http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1579317/29642781/

Just install that, it's the original CD, and patch up to your desired client version.

I am in China right now and demonoid.com is blocked from here. Do you know any other homepage that has these files?

Also, the ping is great, I get no lagg at all on this shard from China.
