I know you can do lvl 5 t-maps with 95 LP and 60 DH, but can you still do them with higher LP (ie. 97) and lower DH (ie. 50)?

Has anyone tried this?

I'm still really surprised you got 2 t-maps in a .2 span. What is your picking skill?

Over the weekend I did quite a few hours of picking and gained up to 96.7. As of yet, I have not seen a single tmap in a chest.

Also, I just noticed in the patch notes that picking chests is harder when you are wearing gloves - the heavier the gloves, the harder it will be. I assume this also increases your chance of a gain, so I will be wearing plate gloves while I pick from now on :)

95.5

Yeah, I've actually gotten 4 maps so far, 2 were lvl 2, a lvl 3 and a lvl 5. Just lucky I guess :).

I also heard the glove thing, gonna use some invuln plate, just in case armor rating has any incidence.

How long did it take you to get to 96.7?

Why do you need DH to do t-maps?

Picking level 5 treasure chests requires either 100 lockpicking skill, or 95 lockpicking skill and 60 detect hidden skill. You do not need to use the DH skill directly. When you try to pick the chest it makes an auto check of DH.

I honestly haven't kept track. If I had to guess, I'd say between 10 and 20 hours? That includes checking for chests that turned out to be already picked.

I empty out the chests every time I pick them so they spawn faster. Usually I do 1 trip, do a t-map or some hunting and then another round.

I actually gained .1 lockpicking off a lv3 tmap chest as well o.O

Took me two solid weeks of farming all the lvl 4 dungeon chests to GM lockpicking (invested 3 hours per day, some days did 5-6 hours.)

1.- No, secure containers are unaccesible, even if they are unlocked.

2.- Yes, you can use it to pick chests in town/dungeons. Some town chests spawn rares or semi-rares that you can get, but for some you need the stealing skill too. Dungeon chests are not THAT hot, since best case you're gonna be getting 300gps plus a few magic items. The jackpot might come if among those magical items you can find invisibility / teleport / magic reflect items or treasure maps.

Your English is better than most of our Italian, so no need to apologize for it. :P
