Time to GM Wrestling > Time to GM Resist
Time to GM Wrestling > Time to GM Resist
So, I've been macroing a char for a few weeks now.
Two casters FSing my new char while my new char wrestles a gm macer holding a wand.
I find it strange that wrestling has only hit 80 while my resist is up at 98.5.
Has there been some kind of change to the way wrestling gains? What am I missing?

Woah.... you should be fighting an npc not another toon. If fighting another player you gain half as fast as you would fighting npcs.

I just GMed wrestling overnight on a hired fighter starting from 25. You need to wrestle hirelings, not other players.
To get the hire to stop attacking you, have another player cast invis on you. He will eventually stop swinging at you.

Son,
My last post was about lack of resist gains, not comparing resist and wrestling.
So, Son, perhaps next time I will use bigger letters so your little brain can comprehend the words better.
Thank you to everyone else for your useful assistance.
P.S - Son you are a piece of excrement.

On this shard, player vs player combat skill gains are slowed. I don't know why, I don't ever remember it being an aspect of production UO.
Re: Time to GM Wrestling > Time to GM Resist
Me either. I'm pretty sure I GMd a few weaponskills + tactics on OSI by just sparring off and on for a couple days (not macroing) -- I don't even know if its possible here.Mikel123 wrote:On this shard, player vs player combat skill gains are slowed. There's actually an OSI patch note saying that player vs player combat gains were slowed to 25%Rammar wrote:Me either. Can you find it? Only thing I found was the March of 2000 patch which introduced power hour and a bunch of anti-macro code.nightshark wrote:There's actually an OSI patch note saying that player vs player combat gains were slowed to 25%Rammar wrote:Me either. Actually it doesn't say 25%, that must be something I read about UOSA. But this is the patch note, 1997:Rammar wrote:Can you find it? Only thing I found was the March of 2000 patch which introduced power hour and a bunch of anti-macro code.

12/9/97
Skills
-Stat and skill advancement for fighting other players has been drastically reduced.
Which would mean that it would be in the demo also, so the code can be checked.
