New to the Server....Tmap Question

Post by karrelan »

I have recently gotten a few tmaps but i cant tell what level they are. Is there a way to id what lvl they are before pulling them up from the ground? thanks for the help I appreciate it.

Well if you can decode it with no skill in cartography, its a level 1. Other than that you have to know where it came from. The harder monsters drop higher level maps. Fishing pulls up level 1's. I think this has been discussed in other threads, try using the Advanced search option for a list of what monster drops what level, maybe someone will be kind enough to put a list here for ya. Whatever level your doing youll need a good Tmap Library, and here is a good one.

The Vesper/Minoc Welcome Center: easy walking distance from either town. I try to keep some tmaps (level 1's) in stock as well as other things people seem to like. Please chop up your treasure chests with an axe when your done so that others may use that location after you.

only way you can really tell what level they are is by

-taking note of where you get them from, mobs will mostly only drop 1 type of treasure map.
eg: lich lord - 4, balron - 5, drake - 3, elder gazer - 4, blood elemental - 5. regular lich can give 1 or 3. fishing always gives level 1, dungeon chests give a random level 1-5.

-try and decode the map with a 0 carto character. if it is "too difficult to decode", it must be higher than level 1. technically you can do this with higher level maps and cartos at different levels, but you'll probably end up decoding the map.

edit: arcott beat me to it but cbf raeding everything he wrote, there may be helpful info in this post still ;/

Thanks very much for the quick response i appreciate it. I was hoping there was a way to tell without having to just remember what monster it came off, but i guess that came later in the uo game era. Thanks again.

Actually, it was before the era.

All the information you need about t-maps can be found here.

If you do decide to go treasure hunting, Arcott's library is next to none.
