Unlocking classes?

I just started on the server and i found that the ninja/samurai/necromancer/paladin classes are all unavailable to play
Why is this?
are just not allowed on the server? or do i need to patch or something

welcome to second age. this server is an emulation of the very early days of UO (aka t2a). none of those classes were available back then and hence they are not playable on this server. if you search around on these forums you will probably figure out very quickly what templates were popular during this era. the most commonly played pvp template here is the tank mage. you will find that the game is quite a bit different from the post REN era of UO that you may be be used to. things are alot more difficult in this era, and if you stick around long enough you will soon see that this is the way UO was meant to be.
