Public House Login:

Post by Faust »

I can't find much sources on the subject now and hoping someone else may have a little better luck... blackfoot made a comment about logging into public houses not booting you outside even if the character isn't friended/coowned. I don't recall this being the case and was under the impression that you would always be ejected outside unless the character was friendly even if the house was public. The patch note seems to suggest this was the case too. The only other known source is from stratics that mentions it too.

Pending information to the contrary I think this calls for the change to be made. You will be ejected from any house you are not friended to public or not. If anyone has anything to add to this it will be very appreciated.

Here is the reason my opinion on the matter is leaning towards both public and private housing on this subject...

  • Friends of the house (including owners) may defend the house:
    • They may exercise "Texas Law."
    • They may attack non-friends in the house without penalty under the rep system.
    • This only applies to private buildings.
    • They can use keywords to ban and eject people.
    • Saying "I ban thee" will bring up a targeting cursor to ban someone.
    • Saying "Remove thyself" will bring up a targeting cursor to eject someone.
    • The functionality of banning and ejecting is the same as if it were selected from the house menu.
    • Logging into a house will automatically eject you outside the door if you are not a friend of the house.
The only features that is possible with in a private house are listed above the portion that states 'this only applies to private buildings' in the notes. However, the features below this comment are all possible in both if you were to exclude the last feature about logging into a building.

Does this mean the logging feature occurs during both like the rest of the features on the list too?

I'm most certainly not saying this is a 'home run' when it comes to the issue. However, it's pretty substantial and seems to lean towards the argument if you ask me.
