Balrons in West Brit?

Anyone know what the deal is, or have seen the balrons, blood eles and sometimes elder gazers spawning just outside west brit pass??

Ahh...yes. Never thought of that. I have just seen them on about 3-4 occasions within the last week or two. That could very well be it :) Thanks!

Those are actually special NPCs that give new players gold. Just walk up to them and say "a balron hello." They will come to your aid.

The balron quest might be too hard for new players. I would suggest bringing really good equipment because when he gives you the mystical map, you need to be prepaired to fight off the massive ettin spawn.

I'm sure you both know the balron only rewards you if you are carrying both of your house keys!

Attn new players:
This guy is trying to get you to carry your house keys while he camps the friendly balron-npc spawns. Do not do this, he only wants to loot your home. Carry a nice magic weapon, gold to pay the balron-ferryman his 2k, good armor to fight the ettin spawn and that's it.
