Blue Text? And I'm pretty sure that perma red message is not in effect on uosa.http://web.archive.org/web/19991127141105/update.uo.com/latest.html wrote:

Saying "I must consider my sins" has been updated to include a message that will let you know if your character is permanently red.
If your character is permanently red, you will receive the message, "You are known throughout the land as a murderous brigand."
Message Color Changes
The text color for the messages will now operate under the following conditions:
* If the player will experience stat loss upon resurrection, the text color will be red.
* If the player will not experience stat loss, the text color will be blue.

Murderers!

Re: Murderers!
Would be no point if we are truly going for the 1998 housing system.

Re: Murderers!
Yah I noticed also the increase of lock downs and the clean up Britannia phase 2 is implemented before our cutoff date. I mean there should be about 10X the amount of lock downs and roughly a 75% increase in secure containers.
I thought this one however would be nifty to have in because of the recent addition to "Perma Red"

Re: Murderers!
The murderous brigand message was added in the last patch. The blue text color will be applied, that one escaped me previously. thanks!
Do we have any perma-red's yet?

Re: Murderers!
Its going to be pretty rare to see someone that has gone blue to red 5 times I think.
Does it make more sense that these Perma Counts should stack on an already red character?
So that is to say you don't need to flip flop over the blue/red status to become perma-murderer, you would only need to accumulate 5 "murderer status tallys" (or 25 consecutive Long Counts) to go perma.
Dunno where to dig up a link for that, but I'm fairly certain that you could go perma red just by straight killing and only turning red once.

Re: Murderers!
The ping pong only accumulates when you go from blue to red, this is pretty explicit.

Re: Murderers!
On the subject of colors, I seem to remember that the default player speech color used to be the same as the innocent blue one.
Re: Murderers!
I completely agree that this was a decent feature.RoseRIP wrote: I thought this one however would be nifty to have in because of the recent addition to "Perma Red"
I'm just concerned about all these November 23rd items that continue to get implemented when we are apparently dead set on the '98 housing system. If this shard ends up officially falling back to the '98 housing system and removing all the housing additions added during November 23rd it will just end up creating an even more inconsistant system than what is in place now.
Wish the shard would just go with the November housing even though it's a horrible addition in my opinion. This way at least it will be consistant with potion kegs, skill management, unlimited bank weight, runebooks, makers mark for tinkers and carpenters(addition to GM made staves), perma red message color scheme, etc... There is just way too many of these additions on this shard that are in a way impossible to remove now. The housing system as crappy as it may be would be much easier to merge into a consistant approach for era accuracy than vice versa...

It's actually just grey if you install from a UO cd. The UOSA install package has it automatically set to yellow, which is why nearly everyone on the shard has a yellow speech font. This has nothing to do with era accuracy though, it's just a client side thing.Boone wrote:On the subject of colors, I seem to remember that the default player speech color used to be the same as the innocent blue one.

Re: Murderers!
I kinda like the housing idea behind phase 2... I like to deco stuffs, and having 4k lock downs in towers would really help.
Dunno if it would acctually reduce the item count tho... seems people would just lock all tiles of their fish tanks and whatnot.
I'm for it if it ever gets implemented.

I tried to force it to blue server side and failed. Apparently the client does indeed determine the color.nightshark wrote:It's actually just grey if you install from a UO cd.
