I am considering joining - coming back to UO.

Post by crabjuice »

I played on a few other pre-uor free shards back in the day, primarily Metropolis. Can anyone give me insight on a pvp character? Is the standard for a tank mage the OSI standard? Magery, Eval, Swords, Tactics, Resist, Meditation, Wrestling? Or has something else proven to be a good substitute for Wrestling on this shard?

Also, if anyone recognizes me or knew me before, any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

O town ftw!
if u played on actual OSI during t2a times, then you'll see very few differences in gameplay.
if u only played metro, then some differences are theres no guaruntee harm/ipy will disrupt, here we have swing timers reset upon movement, slightly different spell dmgs and delays, we have dbl hit, tank mages are best for pvp, DP two handed weps, magicreflect/bless/invis/lightning/fireball/charged weps/clothes/jewels..
if u were good on Metro u won't have too hard of a time transitioning to here, Online Ultima was the last shard I played before joining here

Wadup Crab. You should do just fine with your standard 7x tank that you played on Metro. Quite well if I remember... :D

Swing time reset on movements? Does that mean you can't move a tile and still get an insta hit?

Will weaken and other debuffers guarantee a disrupt?

I need a little more resources to complete my macroing if anyone is willing to help that knew me previously.

- The combat timer can only reduce while not moving. If your combat timer is zero you swing instantly soon as you're next to them.
- Debuffs only disrupt while not active.

Holy shit man! Hey ya bro! St Drahcir / Chinchilla from Metro here. I haven't jumped into the PvP scene yet. Been trying to sell my ingots at my vendor near Vesper (switching to ore for now) to make some money to get my characters started. Plus working up my crafters just like I did on Metro.

Good to hear from you all. I've been macroing my character and am definitely going to play here it looks like. The online player count is pretty appealing. I still need a way to get some more resources for a full spell book and to macro magery. But I should be able to actively compete soon.

There is a trustworthy vendor north of vesper that sells full spellbooks for 4k, I believe.

No better way to get cash for regs than mining raw ore right now.

Get 2k raw ore in the bank and the 40 K you sell it for will get you damn near GM Mage (if not all the way)

Although... from the looks of your char at brit bank i hope you plan on changing your colors....

It is always good to see more people joining!
