Is it illegal to advertise for this server on the real UO?
I've just wasted 30$ irl because I was convinced I would play the real UO because, basically, it was a different game from all the other games, including the UO I remember.
Since I've gone and wasted money, and really won't be playing there since it disgusts me; the inflation is ridiculous, hundreds of millions of gold is the average. Plus the visible player base isn't really great, and Brit is empty due to relocating the new bank to a place called Luna.
ANYWAY, if I were to use this opportunity to try and recruit old vet players who no longer want to play the pay-to-play UO. Could EA/Mythic do anything about it? Aside from ban me, I guess.

they might take offense at you trying to poach their paying customers and eventually get so annoyed at freeshards that they send their lawyers after everyone like WoW did
all in all though it sounds like it's your fault.. i mean, they have a 14 day free trial right? sooooooooooooooo..... thats more than enough time (about 13 days 23.5 hours enough time) to figure out whats what and call them up and cancel before you get billed.
you should be banned from here for going back to OSI in the first place

In short, if you advertise your posts will likely be deleted, and your character in game will be jailed/squelched or something.
Merely talking to other players probably won't earn you any consequences...but sitting at a bank and spamming it might.

Not that you shouldn't do it.
If there are any vets left there; they deserve to know!

That is a sad story, I made the same mistake myself about 5 years ago, but i forgot to cancel it, ended up with i think at least 3 months of charges. That's how they get ya'.

I'd personally like to discourage advertising on any other shards, even EA's. I don't know thinks it's worth the potential for legal action that it may draw, even if that risk is low.
Thanks!

thanks. the new patch notes have me more interested (the swing timers and stuff) in coming back here. I may try and see what the new UO is about, but it'll probably end in me being here, which isn't a bad thing.BlackFoot wrote:welcome back man

I've quit WoW about 6 months ago, got too boring and repetitive, but I guess all games get that way.
I played Diablo 2 for about 3 weeks, it's now too boring and even way more repetitive, just harder.
I still have my old accounts I believe, but I'll get ahold of you for sure, moreso for the friendship than the stuff

lol thanks D, always good to see youDerrick wrote:I didn't even see the Nickname. Welcome back indeed!

I honestly doubt any of the 40 year old virgin RPers still playing on EA shards would be interested in playing here
