Criminal Timer Question

Post by Devillyn Side »

I've tried searching the forums to answer my question, but couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for...so my question is this...

When attempting to kill a Blue NPC...and are guard whacked, what is the criminal timer before a healer will rez you again? I thought it was 2 minutes...It seems everytime I have been guard whacked while attempting this, the timer takes about 10 minutes before I turn blue again. I don't remember it being like this in t2a, but I could be wrong.

Any clarification will be most appreciated. :D

p.s. I am new here and I would like to say Thanks to the Admins and Staff for all the wonderful work you guys have done. Great Shard!

Thanks!

Has anyone else experienced this 10 minute timer issue?

I tested it again...it's definitely longer than 2 minutes. I'd say it was anywhere between 8 and 10 minutes to turn blue again. Not sure if it has anything to do with the town?? I was in Nujel'm.

Are you poisoning them?

If so, my guess is you're criminal for 2 minutes after the most recent damage you (or your poison) has done.

Even so, I doubt poison would still be going after 6 minutes.

Is the criminal timer is Razor display still running beyond 2 minutes from your latest damage? If not, then I'd imagine it's an issue of the healers not "finding" you. I have had this happen where I need to run out and back in a couple of times for the healer to recognize me and rez me.

Poison is considered a single act, ticks don't count as an attack. Technically you should be able to go blue while your poison is still damaging someone (or DP someone, heal them to full, watch them die and receive no murder count). If it's not functioning like that, it's a bug. I know you can poison someone outside the GZ and it doesn't matter if they run and and try to whack you.

OP - how exactly are you attempting to kill the NPC?

I am poisoning them. Pretty sure it's not an issue of the healer not finding me though. The poison sounds like what might be causing it. Because I have been guard whacked from other things and didn't have that long of a criminal timer.

He's saying he got it right, you're staying crim cause you're poisoning the NPC and it makes you grey until 2 minutes after the poison wears off. That must be a bug since 3/5/10 patch notes state:

- "Poison "ticks" are not attacks, and you will not be guard whacked solely due to them. You can be guard whacked if you poison someone in town, on the initial application of the poison (be it by spell or weapon)"

You will stay gray longer if the blue player does the following:

Is poisoned - this renews your timer every time poison ticks.
Opens a traped box - renews timers

I also beleive but am not 100% sure about thsi one... if the player keeps fighting ie mobs or other players it keeps you gray then if they die while doing this they can give you a murder count even if you did get guard whacked.

tested this on my 3 accounts flagged gray then sent my main that was still blue to fight mobs my character stayed gray for about 9 minutes until i stopped fighting or died... when i did kill myself using posion or trapped boxes i was given a choice to give a murder count.
