Easier to trade deeds than 190+ gps, so I'm betting he's expecting a deed.

Yes, generally houses are traded for their original price (The deed purchased at a carpenter) plus X amount...this could be multiple deeds...whatever is easier and generally agreed upon by you and the seller/buyer.

Or, you can elect to drop piles of gold, though this is not recommended.
