Very Important Things
Very Important Things
Hello all. This past week marked a full year since I created my first UOSA account. Been playing at minimum a few times a week, sometimes every day, ever since and because of that I have learned a few things here. I have realized that many things need to be said so I will do so here. I know many of these things have been said many times before but I feel it is important that our voice is heard.
- Five houses per account is just wrong. It just leads to most every house here being empty. When I first started I farmed gold until I had enough for a keep. I ran around for 5 hours looking to place it and couldn’t find anywhere. That just isn’t right. It should be changed to just one house per account, but I will even accept two. Derrick hear my plea. And of course multiply that by 3 accounts, which leads to my next point.
- Multi-clienting should not be allowed. Nobody back in 1999 had three accounts running at the same time and if you say you did you are flat out lying. Don’t try to fool us. PKs can be on all the time while their other two accounts work off murder counts, it is an unfair advantage to them. Plus, they lead to all kinds of other inaccuracies, mainly…
- Ghosting is out of control on this shard. It’s so screwed up that I can’t farm in certain places without cheating guilds like TG knowing exactly where I am at all times. This needs to be changed that if you are a ghost and not doing anything you need to be teleported to a town. Or perhaps the GMs can jail ghosts in dungeons. On OSI you would get logged off after a while if you stood around doing nothing. This just isn’t right. Derrick, hear my plea and change this asap.
- I don’t know why ‘all kill’ doesn’t work for tamers here. Everyone who was a tamer back in the day knows it worked. Stupid quotes from 11 year old forums don’t prove anything. They didn’t know what they were doing then. Us tamers knew what was what in the game because we ruled it. Why did we rule it? Because of ‘all kill.’ It’s completely ridiculous that it doesn’t work here and it needs changed asap.
- I have also noticed that blue PKs run rampant on this shard. It doesn’t matter how obscure of a place I go, whether it be Brit graveyard, Yew liches, or in a dungeon. So many times a blue has come up to me while I am farming and just attacks. This completely goes against the spirit of UO and you all know it. What I propose is that when a blue randomly attacks another blue the person being attacked just get a gump asking them if they should allow this or if the attacker should immediately turn red. Then there can be consequences for your actions. Good guys should not attack good guys and you all know this is true. Derrick hear my plea.
- The silver system on this shard is completely inaccurate. It creates an unfair advantage for players who like to pvp. Some of us like to do other things here and because of that I have no chance of getting silver on this shard. It’s not fair. Plus these events are held in trammel-like places which goes against everything T2A stood for. If you guys want to hold your own duel events you should just do it that way. Too many players don’t ever actually go out and play the game all they do is log on for tournaments and collect silver. This is so wrong. Derrick hear my plea because this is so inaccurate.
- I know this isn’t era accurate, but there needs to be a trading gump when buying and selling houses to each other. When I first started here I was scammed out of a tower deed because I trusted someone who was supposed to be selling me one. This is just wrong and I almost quit because of it. If you want more players and a healthier shard you need to make it so new players aren’t so easily scammed. A trading window for houses hardly is game changing but would make this problem pretty much go away. This seems like a no brainer to me.
- AFK macroing… let’s be honest. It should not be allowed. To be truly era accurate we need to earn our skills. Players come here and lock themselves in their homes so they can make their 7x tank mages. Nobody was 7xgm back in 1999 and don’t anyone even try to disagree. You KNOW I’m right on this one. This is a shard full of supermen and it doesn’t seem like OSI days at all. It is so completely inaccurate and it needs to be changed. I say that if you are afk macroing you should be transported by a gm to a dangerous location. That way if you are seriously there you can survive. It seems like a reasonable solution to me. Derrick hear my plea.
I really love the year I have been on this server and other than the minor quibbles I have outlined above everything is perfect. Derrick and staff, I appreciate the awesome job that you do. However, I think it is important that we make it so people starting here don’t immediately quit because that would go against everything we stand for here. We are an awesome community that needs to grow. However, unless the changes I outlined above get made I think I’m probably gonna quit. It’s been fun.

Re: Very Important Things
Just read the blue PKers and Blue PK's post and you will see the Blue PKers want it like this... They think this is Era accurate, being someone for the beginning of Ultima I know it’s BS, but you can't lead a fool to water.

I think its pretty obvious hes mocking those that complained and highlighting the biggest complaints in his time here. I expect you out of all people to see the sarcasm in this.SJane3384 wrote:No offense dude, but holy shit way to beat like 100 dead horses at once. You've been here a year. Honestly, if Derrick would just ban GuardianKnight, trading would be pretty much secure. Plus that would take Derrick less time than coding a gump.applejack wrote:- I know this isn’t era accurate, but there needs to be a trading gump when buying and selling houses to each other. Best thread all week.

Re: Very Important Things
Bravo applejack. I wish someone had brought these issues to light earlier. I feel like I'm the only one here who's noticed these things!
