How to go 800k to broke in three days :o (And the upstairs is still bare).

I've got a mooring post  -

I'll post a pic of upstairs sometime, need to knock out a few bows. I conceded defeat on the downstairs kitchen so 'living space' will now all be upstairs.

Thanks for the comments folks. Upstairs is finished now apart from a few hanging herbs etc that I've yet to acquire -

You probably wouldn't believe how long it took me to figure out the layout, so I'm not going to say :o Considering relocating the westmost bed over a space but apart from that I'm leaving it alone now.

104 out of 108 so far - Anything that needed to 'float' and anything that's worth stealing should someone ever get in.

On the door hinges - Yes they are butter knives. The handles are forks. I wanted to use draw knives (they look a lot like the handle on the standard doors Image) but just couldn't get them to position right.

Hi Jill,

Love your decor!

I have recently bought my first house ever (a cosy small). Mighty proud of myself I am! You have previously advised me how to place furniture and stack chests (thanks much!). May I ask a couple of lantern questions?

1) How do you get a lantern to lock-down outside the front door? (I can't seem to lock anything down on my front step.)
2) How do you make your lanterns look like they are attached to the wall? I like the way you have done that!

Also:
3) Where do you buy/get rugs? I'd like to have one as a floor covering.

Kind regards,
Zelek

1. You need to stack items on the steps to a minimum height before they can be locked down - The minimum height is three small tables and one board (or equivalent) underneath the item you wish to lock down.

2. Stack a butcher knife on top of the lantern. You might want a board or two as spacers between them to get the correct gap. (Skinning knives work OK too).

3. The rugs are furs that used to come off the corpses of bears etc. These animals were changed a little while back to only provide hides, so furs are now becoming a rare. That said there are a lot in circulation so they don't cost too much.

PS - Nice tower Nightshark. You're a natural.
