Snakes......I hate snakes.......
Okay guys question. Where is the biggest spawn of silver serpents located? Also can you tame giant serpents?
Re: Snakes......I hate snakes.......
Here is a link to animals and monsters that can be tamed.Arkosh Kovasz wrote:Okay guys question. Where is the biggest spawn of silver serpents located? Also can you tame giant serpents?

(I dont see giant serps or silvers, but regular small snakes can be tame)
I dont know if i have ever seen more than one Silver serp on the screen at the same time as far as spawn goes. I always see on in the "Terra de sanctum" sp? area of t2a (island north eastish of Papua) and then in the old lands on the Fire island.
The more i think of it, you may be able to find 2 or 3 on fire island if you run around a bit...
Although, why on earth would you want to find multiples of these bad boys with their speed and deadly poison!

You cant tame silver serps, but I can tell you how to get one.
You need a provoker, a tamer, and one or two healers. You also need two boats.
The tamer sets up tamed animals for bait leading to the ship. The provoker provokes the serpent upon the animals like connecting the dots all the way to the ship to which the healer (S) and tamer are and when the serpent gets aboard the provoker then turns the serpent upon his/her own person from the safety of another boat. Thereby safely allowing you to transport the creature as long as you choreograph your movements.
Try Valour Isle I seen three silvers there all within vicinity of each other...that is if you got the manpower for that yo-ho.

Couldn't you just intentionally suicide with one char by having it chase you onto the boat, or even prep a recall for when you get on the boat? The things aren't that fast are they?archaicsubrosa77 wrote:You cant tame silver serps, but I can tell you how to get one.

And what do you need an untamed silver serpent on a boat for anyway?

Sure you could. You could play the ghost ship game with monsters aboard give someone else the key knowing you will die.
It's just a little more daring and adventurous trying to survive. I mean you could take a white wyrm all over and terrorize everyone as a ghost sure.
But if you want to control the monster to cause the least amount of havoc upon anyone else as much as possible provoking it on your character ensures you have its attention and can control where it will be going when it leaves the ship. The tamer is there to make more bait if need be to draw its attention away for a moment when there are no other sources for provocation and a mistake has been made.
There is a number of ways to do this.
I like the idea of watching the monster devour bulls and bears before loading it up on ship. You might be straight forward and lead it up to the ship and die while another character locks it up, and unlocking it so you may dock as you have suggested.
I dont want to rez a character I might need help from myself. I say if you can do it without dying do it, if you dont care then bonzai. Both ways work as you can phantom ship it and command in ghost form.
Well a silver serp is a good scare tactic or a training tool whatever you may wish of it. Such as you may need a couple healers to up their healing. Or maybe you want to set a trap for house looters...whatever.

I did, but was it "i hate snakes"? I thought it was "why does it always have to be snakes"...or something to that effect. It was probably both.Arkosh Kovasz wrote:I was hoping someone would pick up on that =)Medwin Lucrii wrote:+++ for indiana jones reference
Re: Snakes......I hate snakes.......
I think I found a silver serpent last night on Fire Island near the small 2 entrance cave mine.
Then again, whatever it was, it was the size of a giant serpent. I really didn't catch its name (it was that deadly), I couldnt even open a health bar on this thing because it was beastly.
When it chased me it was like being chased by a player on a horse, I had no wrestling, it destroyed me and poisoned me higher than the giant serpent I had killed about 2 minutes before. My miner with 100hp lived a few seconds with only enough time to run, get hung up on some terrain feature, and die.
I then brought another character in to deal with this, it was so fast I didn't have time to do anything, I was poisoned and the poison did heavy damage (I dont know the poison messages that correspond to level of poison yet), and I could barely recall with enough time to drop dead at Serpents Hold bank.
I was able to recover the loot of my two chars but thank god this monster left the area.
I was actually considering that it was GM controlled because it moved unlike any monster I have seen.
Was this a Silver Serpent?

They are all over the place. On fire island, but particularly all over the smaller tmap islands (bald island, etc). They move super-fast and have nasty poison. They basically match my running speed on foot! Not GM controlled, just mean! Non Tamable, crappy loot, alot of HP, not even worth hunting.

Re: Snakes......I hate snakes.......
yeah, that was a SS. Not GM controlled, though they are pretty hard to deal with. I was tempted to throw away my lvl 1 treasure maps that are for SS spawn areas because it was simply not worth the hassle. However, it seems like SS hit points have been changed because I can kill them with about 3 EBs whereas it used to take much more than that just a few weeks ago.
Re: Snakes......I hate snakes.......
I plan to get into the Tmap business someday, what is the best way to deal with these monsters? a blade spirit if you can get the drop on it?
Yeah I necro'd the thread, someone told me about Silver Serpents after I was telling him about a nasty Giant Serpent that messed me up last night, I decided to search and learn about it, in all my time playing UO this monster really surprised me the most that I can recall.
