stableperson in moonglow
Where was the stable person in moonglow on the OSI server(s) you played?
For me it was at the Inn (Atlantic). I also played Lake Superior and SP but I don't remember where they were on those servers. I think on one of them it was at the moonglow docks. It would be nice to have a stable person in moonglow here... I've looked all over and can't find it. If I'm missing the stable person someone please give me a heads up as to it's location here.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
The two servers that I played on got one right near the Innkeeper, west of the bank. However, I am positive that this was well into UO:R, and that during T2A, there was no stable in Moonglow.
On UOSA, there is no stablemaster in Moonglow, to reflect this t2a accuracy.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
Baja and LS during T2A did not have stable masters. The only way to get stable masters during T2A other than established stables was GM blessings. So I wouldnt say it would never happen, just highly unlikely (here on UOSA).
Re: stableperson in moonglow
Any screenies from T2A stable masters? I'm pretty sure the GMs had them on some servers; I also know it was different on each server. I've talked to some other people who remember them during T2A but at the docks on their particular server. I don't remember who they were as this was a long while ago; and I brought it up because nothing was ever done about it. If you are one of those people please post here.
It would be nice if the GMs could bless moonglow with a stable master. In some random location.
As I said though, on the severs I played it was always the inn or the docks.

On Pacific there were no stable masters anywhere except the regular stable buildings. So no, there was no stabler in Moonglow.

I cannot be sure that it was in T2A, but Napa definitely had one shortly thereafter.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
I think it's funny that everyone is so confident there was no stable master. The stable master was there in Moonglow during T2A. I'm not sure whether it was before or after our cut off date, but It is within era accuracy and the powers of GMs to bless Moonglow with a stable master. I saw some other town inn with a shepherd in it recently. I don't ee wha the big deal is... the stable master location was never obvious (no signs or anything and not the same spot each server) and not everyone knew it was there. It took a bit of time to find it for the first time on Atlantic and I remember having to ask someone after looking all over town for it. The stable master ended up being all the way in the back of the inn. I also remember at some other OSI shard it was at the begining the docks and I actually paged a counselor to find it, it was not easy to find either place.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
NPC placement on OSI shards seemed to have always been a pure policy issue. I don't see why it can not be the same here. If staff determines that the placing of a stable master in glow would be beneficial to the shard, I can't see a valid argument against it.
One thing that has been proven over and over in regards to NPC's is: there was no hard rule or standard for where they could and could not be placed.. Most of the shards had custom NPCs in a variety of locations, of which most did not match. This was due to the fact that GM's were responsible for 1-2 shards only, so if they placed a NPC on their shards, it would not necisarrily be recreated on all shards. Also, you can't count out the corruption issue lol - half the GM's played and had friends that played so a lot of times, special NPC placement was tied to friends/guild mate requests.
I think staff here should not be limited to NPC locations, if they feel XXXX should be in YYYYYY, all the power to them.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
People have completely lost sight of this small bit of common sense on this shard...sadly. Era Accuracy isn't JUST Item A being at location X,Y... We have a different playerbase here and should reflect that playerbase as GM's back in the day reflected their playerbase's with NON game-changing things...like a stablemaster in Moonglow.Brules wrote:NPC placement on OSI shards seemed to have always been a pure policy issue. I'm not saying that i'm for or against a stablemaster in Moonglow, but I am saying that the GM's here don't really do those "little additions" that GM's did on other shards in RESPONSE to the players of their shard. Sure, they did town blessings back in the day here, but that's not even what i'm talking about and that's more to the benefit of a specific audience. I'm talking about the stuff around the towns that made each shard unique. Banks with unique decorations, and stuff like that.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
We have our own player run towns that have stablemasters...I don't completely understand why we wouldn't have one for Moonglow. Atlantic was by far the most populated shard and as mentioned had a 'glow stable.

Re: stableperson in moonglow

Theres no need for another stable master in any town, its not really inaccurate or accurate - it's a policy decision and clearly the policy is to not have one. The thing that ruined OSI for the bulk of us here is that they bowed to popular demand too much and eventually removed most inconveniences and risks from the game.
Just because many people want a new NPC in their favorite town is not a valid reason to add it in. If you have a good reason then post it.

i played on ATL and i remember no such stable master throughout my years of playingdren wrote:I think it's funny that everyone is so confident there was no stable master. The stable master was there in Moonglow during T2A.

Re: stableperson in moonglow
so Cove had a bank on some servers
Moonglow had stables on some servers...
I think I played a pirate UO shard that had a moongate that would teleport you to a random area in a random dungeon that appeared randomly anywhere dependent on moon phase and time cycle that also had connections to weather phases

Oh yeah it increased the spawn of any given area it would appear in as well
