Blade spirits
Blade spirits used to only poison you when you shoved them(walked into the tile they were in).
As of now, they poison on hit.
Didn't know if this was mentioned yet or not.

Re: Blade spirits
I also remember this being the case, but I have no verification on it. What I find interesting is the story behind killing a Balron on the '99 stratics site. It says to use several blades and "poison" them with the spell. This would suggest that blades did not poison, and that my memory on only walking over them caused the poison.
Re: Blade spirits
I remember them always poisoning, but I also remember running into other peeps spirits to turn the caster grey even if the spirit was targetting another creature. It was almost like a BS had an area attack of it's immediate location (I know my description is a little rough, but hopefully clear).
Remember the reactive armor BS bug? You could get whopping resist gains with minimal damage to yourself by casting RA on yourself and taking hits from spirits. You would still get poisoned, but the spirits damage was lessened. Was the poisoning maybe treated as a "spell" that cast on contact?
I think this post may be an award winner for being ckocked full of terrible descriptions.

Re: Blade spirits
The reason it poisoned was because you were running over top of it above on the tower wing.
Re: Blade spirits
If you are standing directly on top of a monster and are aggro'd to it, you become that monsters current target.
As far as I can remember I don't ever recall being able to poison balrons.

Re: Blade spirits
Pre:UOR poison worked entirely different than UOR and up. Anything and everything could be poisoned. If you take a look at the '99 stratics site it clearly says to use poison as a tactic for taking down a balron much quicker. Mobs didn't become immune to poison until awhile after the UOR publish.
Re: Blade spirits
I remember being careful not to shove the blade spirit, cause I knew it'd poison me. I also remember training parrying from blade spirits, and it worked well due th their extremely high dexterity.
I think their dexterity was higher in T2A than it is here. They used to hit almost twice a second.

Re: Blade spirits
blade spirit parrying gians only became effective after power hour, parry was based on speed/power of the hits
everyone at start of t2a got it by getting beat on by groups of wisps
blades shouldnt poison until you step on them i dun think

You're probably right, but I still think they should swing faster.BlackFoot wrote:blade spirit parrying gians only became effective after power hour, parry was based on speed/power of the hits

Re: Blade spirits
Mob fixes "including summons" and mob loots are going to be corrected in an upcoming patch. Faust has been working hard on getting code from the demo to support correct sounds, stats, damage, loot etc. I think he's almost done with it I haven't talked to him in a few days due to me being sick.Red wrote:You're probably right, but I still think they should swing faster.BlackFoot wrote:blade spirit parrying gians only became effective after power hour, parry was based on speed/power of the hits

Re: Blade spirits
aye, I have around 75% of this done. It is a massive project with a lot of verification through several sources.

Re: Blade spirits
Nice, thanks for the hard work guys.
I want to try to get that demo working just to mess around in it. Is that possible> I can just download it?

Re: Blade spirits
I've heard of people having downloads on torrents and so forth. I honestly have no idea for certain though. I have 3 different t2a cd's. The first is an upgrade, the second is the early t2a cd with the demo, and the third is a late t2a cd without the demo. I would suggest looking around a little bit to see if you can find a download for it somewhere if you don't have the cds like me.
