Fishing broke affter new pach

Hi all,
I have a fisher at 96.3 and affter the pach i can not gain.
the resone might be that i am pulling to many serps , As all i do if fight of serps 30 % or more of the time so les time fishing.
I played tow days in a row for around a total of 4 hour,s and not one gain , mostly i think becouse i now having to fight serps off all the time .
and at a mid 50s mage its a slow thing to do lol , Ad to this i have low manna and i think you see how bad things are for me .
the only other way i see wou;d for me to have realy high magery and med so that i can kill the serps fast, But shurly that would not be fair, more so with the new no passive med thing in place to (
Please please sort the serps out i have spent so much time geting to 96.3 , But at the mmoment its not worth plying my fisher *sobs*

There have been some other rumors that there are too many serps being pulled up. We will likely address this right away.

Rusty, i think it is 93.2... that is where my fisher is at never leaving a spot next to my house while hidden.

I thinki macro'd him 2 nights without a gain at 93.2

I'm not sure if macroing fishing unattended is legal on this shard =P goes along with macroing resource gathering...

You can AFK macro fishing only from shore

There are a lot of serps, but it's essentially fine. I've gone from about 95 to 98.2 since the patch, and have gone from about zero fame 'Eminent' in the process, heh. Definitely doesn't seem right to draw two or three failure serps on consecutive casts with skill ~98, though..

Hi Hoots, at the moment i have magery 65.3 med 65.3 resist 39.2.
I manage ok its just a bit slow killing serps and now there more of them lol this = les time fishing so les gains, Its gone realy realy slow m8 . If i new that they were going to do this i would have made a dex fisher *smiles* hope this helps.

I would recommend a combination of magery and archery.

At least, thats what I plan to do.

Yo Hoot, I don't really think you need a specific build; my fisherman is an alch/poisoner who got bored of sitting around the house. ;p You can check him out, he's public, named 'Sanchez'. I just keep my blades poisoned and fence 'em to death. Also you'd be surprised but at GM it's pretty easy to run and hide on your boat.

Cheers for the input, just reached that 93.2 mark from the shore so its time to buy a boat.... but not until I learn to kill those serpys!!
Good thing about a fisher is you can have many diff templates. I'll be going for the fisher/archer but also chucking magery in for ease and just in case...

Good Luck rusty. Make sure you check out the boat guide (in the guides section) that Derrick recently posted. I lost my boat a few weeks ago bc i probably didnt refresh it properly.

Have fun... Let me know how the mage/archery works out. Sounds like a fun template but expensive to raise both skills. Dont know if fishing loot will pay for it or not!
