I can set up "http://uot2a.com?" to redirect to http://www.uosecondage.com if you would like to make that change.

BTW great idea I tested it out and it worked perfectly@

Well, it's finely past "Tomorrow Eve" oh Sinatra, are you going to share your copies of these early versions of UO?

Much Appreciated.

I never even noticed the chest until AOS and always thought "why would they add this stupid thing in."

But cool anyways if it was around before.

Adding the Chest Login screen is a fantastic idea, I was considering posting it as a suggestion on the board but it appears it's currently under serious consideration.

Best of luck with it, for it will truly define UOSA as a premium era-accurate server.

I do not think so, and don't call me Shirley.

You can get the alpha right here : http://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewto ... =14&t=7887
There's also a closed Third Down beta here : http://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewto ... =14&t=9117

This chest client is the best! It reminds me of the days I was on OSI. (:
Now this will make the shard more unique! *Cheers*

Does this have the "stones" song on the intro? I loved that tune, reminded me of Ultima 7

Ah, not only do I have the Pre-Alpha, but I'm developing an emulator for it as we speak, and worked with another one previously back in 2003. As for the Third Dawn beta, I aquired it back in the day from Chopper of the AskChopper bug site.

I'm referring to the two editions of UO that occured in between the Pre-Alpha and the final (1.25.whatever) release: The Alpha, and the Beta. Mr. Sinatra indicated that he had these and was to put 'em up in his private hosting space.

It would sure make me feel all nice and warm inside if I could get me in some of that Alpha/Beta action.

You know what I mean.

Awwww yeah.

Actually, yes. Atleast, the second emu is. It's done by Max Scherr, and written in Delphi/Pascal.
I reckon a quick googlin' will bring up download locations.

The first one, I worked with a fellow named Tamino back in the day. He was the coder, and I tested and documented packets.
Though I have copies of the emulator (it was called Ethereal Void) I do not have copies of the source. With luck, I might be able to track him down and cajole him into releasing the source, but it has been 8 years, after all.

Max's emu however, is indeed open source. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar enough with the language it's written in to be able to further develop it, or even port it to something I'm decently skilled at, such as C++.
Here's a link to the sourceforge page. http://sourceforge.net/projects/uoana/

Although I can't fiddle too much with the source itself, the emulator has a rudimentary scripting system that has allowed me to begin to reconstruct a decent worldstate. Unfortunately there appears to be limits in place, and scripting in too many item prototypes, etc, causes random silliness. There's nothing much I can do from the scripter's side, and any workaround possible from that end would only lead to bloat.

But czech it out!

One project I'm attempting is an extraction of all data files (*.Mul) in the Pre-Alpha. Unfortunately, they have a slightly different arrangement than the modern Muls, but I've been able to extract land tiles, and statics, without too much trouble. Current focus is on map data.
