Lol.

I was developing code for the Japanese at work. Luckily some other people reviewed the GUI code. I was abbreviating the languages so I had Eng, Frn, Jap.

Well apparently Jap is offensive and derogatory...so they caught it and had me change it to Jpn.

Derrick's right..
I scammed people for petty cash (10-100k) before EA took over.. once EA took over the GM's got everwhelmed by the amount of scams which they had to deal with.. As far as I know, they have regressed to the t2a era in terms of scams on UO today: Staff no longer deals with scams individually unless an exploit is used.. All in all scamming was a "major" part of the game for many players back during t2a...
I don't think that it SHOULDNT be implemented on the grounds that only true vets would benefit.. I mean that IS who this shard is set to appeal too (not only vets of course) but if it IS that hard to script then i wouldn't be upset if it wasn't corrected tbh.

lol @ Ronk.. people are WAY too sensitive these days .. gets annoying after a while don't ya think?

Scamming can be a lot of work...assuming its a true scam and not some bug.

if you can earn a million gps you probably understand the game well enough not to get scammed

i have never scammed anyone <--- and i was also good at detecting scams
i think scamming adds to the fear of doing deals and the quality feeling you get after they are completed
also a lot of newer players to uo gives them a good way to get involved with the vets in asking questions about deals and scams

i probably talk to 4 or 5 newer players daily helping them out with these things
maybe gettin scammed helps em get involved :D hahaha

i agree it sucks, but good scams are harder to come by than GP thats for sure..
Not to mention it is almost ALWAYS the "scamee's" fault.. most ingame scams are extremely obvious
i'm not pro-scamming, i just remember this feature of t2a

One of the great things about UO is the ability to be creative, and to have a much larger degree of danger. I think it's what most other games lack, and why UO still thrives after so many years.
