I think they made there intentions very clear and I think it's a pretty cool thing for them to do. Besides that, they might ENJOY trading and it could be something they just want to do. What's the big freaking deal?

Brules, SJane - you both know me. I am a jerk, a troll, a awesome dude, a trustworthy merchant and a redhead. I have nothing to do with this website, however I am inclined to get into forum disputes and I am clearly on the better side here.

I have my own suspicions as to who is running this site, but I cannot confirm them now to my own satisfaction so I won't bother muddying the argument with baseless accusations. Unlike some here.

To be Honest atm lets look at this for what it is .. There IS a new trade site .. at worst this is a phishing scam for user name passwords .. Other then that there is nothing to say they well not stand up to their rules for banning and scamming ..

Other then that lets be honest about phish scam .. Who wouldn't use a diff new password .. at least for now .. I know I did when I got a pm .. and I was asked to keep things to myself which is even more iffy..

Other then that the only scamming I can see other then what is able to be done already on current uosa forums. Is maybe some thing like removing editing post on some ones behalf .. and only time will tell that ..

Again I'm for asking our Current UOSA trade mods to be asked to take up places here .. and
maybe a verified name .. verified that your name matches your uosa forums name .. so no name games ..

I just want to add my two cents:

I got a pm, I signed up, I used a different password, I even posted something in the trade section to see what its about.

facts we know: The creator of the site wants to stay unknown, reasons being, they don't want their player names to have any decisions/weight as far as if this system will work or not.

I personally couldn't care who runs the site, as long as they do what they say they are going to do.

This system that they have setup at uosatrade.com honestly looks like a drastic improve to our current system (feedback ratings being one of them) PLUS it takes away from server load on secondage's staff (which they have requested) and this is a player(s) putting a lot of time and energy into creating something beneficial to the shard.

I for one have dealt with the site creator and have had some extensive conversations with them.

My approval, however small that may be, is 100% behind getting uosatrade.com up and running smoothly, and shutting down the trade forums here, so staff can not only free up server space but have more time and less headaches from not having to deal with it.

I approve completely with this, and honestly cant figure out why so many people are attacking it.

Lets go over the scenarios-

phishing -...this just seems stupid, use a different password.
accountability -...who will ban the scammer if they do scam....well it says in the rules that they will be dealt with by banning from the forum (granted at this moment in time thats not a big deal, however when the trade forums we are currently on are shut down and that is the method of trading for uosa, then I'm sure that will be a big deal).

There are player moderators, who moderate the trading forums so the staff don't have to. What is wrong with the current setup? Somebody wants to have power and be the admin on the new forums? Sounds pretty counter-productive to what we already have going on now.

Simple solution? Ban the morons who spam shit in the trading forums all day long. It's pretty clear theres only a handful of trolls who live in the trade forums. I watch them continuously post off-topic but they never seem to get banned, how many warnings does it really take before somebody gets banned?

I watch beatingu troll people all day long and he still hasn't been banned from the trade forums. What makes you guys think switching websites is going to change anything at all..?

The only things taking up unnecessary space are the off-topic posts from users who should already be banned from those forums already.

Changing websites will only confuse half of the players we already have, and all of the new ones to come.

The staff here are too kind and allow people to get away with way more than they should, on countless occasions. Show a little authority and ban the idiots causing the problems and we're all set. How hard is it to actually identify the people who post on the forum with no intent other than to troll said players(s).

I can write up a list right now, just off the top of my head who falls into this category. There are a few who only troll the trading forums, but there are also those who just simply troll on each, and every thread just to bump their post count & get attention. Its no coincidence that these same people are those who troll IRC all day long.

A few hours ago I pm'd Tunerian with my questions regarding the plans of the site because I was skeptical at first as well. He/She just got back to me, and I think my concerns are alleviated. The admin seemed credible and honest in his/her intentions, which is to launch a site where people can trade as a community while taking some of the stress off the main forums.

In other words, use common sense. Pretty simple stuff. I say give it a shot.

nobody knows and he isn't telling. yet he expects us to trust him, and that his site is secure and you won't be scammed there.

and there seems to be noone that can vouch for him or his socalled staff personally
