Magery?

30 - 50 skill... what do I cast?

Patch 55 affected magery and 58 affected skill gains in general making previous guides somewhat out of date.

Post changes ive found that you should always be outside of town (in a house) and casting on yourself to gain resistance with it. to save time and resources always stick with spells until resistance stops gaining, not magery. resistance seems a bit slower to stop. that said, this is what i used to gm magery and resistance:

I started at 50/50 (you can use fire field/fireball to get here)

------------------(switched just because gains seemed to stop at times)

Magery through:---57.5------------------87.0---------------------------GM

Resist through:----65.0------------------85.0 ---------------------------GM

Note: by the time i gm'd magery resist was around 93.
stuck with flamestrike for a long time

Currently working on magery casting lightning but my resist isnt going up and i have it set to increase and i am not capped on max points. Any ideas?

Your probably casting under the protection of guards in a town.. in that case you cannot get any gains in resist. Try going somewhere out of town guards.

Hmm, Is magery gaining movement based and do you have to switch up spells to gain.?

Also does training in poisoning affect the dmg of the spell?
Cant remember if inscription had any affect in this time either...?

Has anyone tried using earth quake for resist gains?

to my knowledge, EQ can not be resisted.

in fact, i think EQ casted by a person with GM magery and Zero eval int does the same amount of damage as a caster with GM mage/eval
