I think he meant give it as trybute. As in, for 0 gps. Then he proceded to suggest you continue being a new player. 
Realistically, the helm is not all that awesome. URKs die all the time, so don't care too much about their gear, and most orc helms have been gifted to them anyway. I gave them about 10 I had laying around for free.
