In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
We need to make it so that everytime you trade an animal, regarless of the breed, it needs to show a picture of a horse in the trade window. It was some time after UO:R when you could actually see the type of animal that was in the trade window.
Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
As far as compliance, the animal trade window itself is essentially a UO:R feature. Something that should probably be taken out. I haven't mentioned this becuase it's not something i'm particularly keen on doing, but you drug it out of me.
Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
If this window is removed than shouldn't the house trade window be removed also since both was introduced at the same time I do believe?

This is the information that I believe you are looking for regarding secure housing:

Secure House Trading
On a side note: Does anyone remember the old "a scroll" item that dropped. It was one of those junk items that was commonly found in era all the way through the Orcish invasion of Yew (it was a common piece of loot off of the normal orcs as part of their junk loot). I recall it being removed at the beginning of UOR, and in effect creating a rare.

Secure House Trading
- Secure house trading will allow players to sell or trade items for houses using the trade window.
- To trade a house to another player the owner of the house can:
- Click the “transfer” button in the house options menu.
- A targeting cursor will appear. The house owner can then target the person they wish to transfer the house to.
- A trade window will automatically appear.
- The trade window will contain a deed in the current owner’s portion of the window. This deed is not an actual house deed, but will display the name of the house, the house type, and the sextant coordinates of the house’s location.
- The other player may then place gold (or other items) into his portion of the window.
- Once both participants have clicked the gems to agree to the trade, the house will automatically be transferred to the new owner and the deed will delete itself.
- If the transfer is cancelled, the deed deletes itself and all other items are returned to their owner.
- You will not be able to transfer a house to a character that already owns a house using this method.
- We will also be making changes to the secure trading window to account for the amount and weight of items used in transfers and to stop any scams associated with the trade window. Information on this enhancement will be forthcoming.

Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
I remember the "a scroll"s. Seemed they were fairly common in all the backpacks that used to drop too.
Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
The scrolls were very common. I got them off of a lich or lich lord quite often.
Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
The house trade is barely T2A as well, but the animal trade was added even later than that.Faust wrote:If this window is removed than shouldn't the house trade window be removed also since both was introduced at the same time I do believe?

Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
I always remembered them coming in around the same time. I looked it up a second ago and they both were actually patched at the same time during February 23rd, of 2000 from what it looks like. This is also the same patch that added a more secure trade window for scams, new guild stone menu, npc's dying over a period of time, trammel moonstones, insta res removal, new healing changes, and so forth.Derrick wrote: The house trade is barely T2A as well, but the animal trade was added even later than that.

Ahh you're right. Somehow I got the idea the pet was impemented later, thanks for the correction. I wans probably looking at the individual feature announcments which have differeing dates on them quite often.

Another very interesting info that is found on that page is the following:
Dexterity and Healing
In an effort to balance the Healing skill with other methods of healing damage (such as healing potions and the greater heal spell), dexterity will affect the delay for healing and the penalty for finger slips while healing.

- The higher a character’s dexterity, the less time it will take to complete a heal.
The amount of healing a character loses due to a finger slip will be reduced with a higher dexterity.

RawToxic,
That healing system was here previously. At least until I pointed out the inconsistencies with it based on era. For example, pre casting was removed previously before that. This essentially means if this healing system was implemented than pre-casting should also be removed since it was removed before this was added. Pre casting was removed January 24th, which means anything after that technically shouldn't exist unless you also would want to remove pre-casting in a logical stand point.

Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
While it's somewhat a logical inconsistency to have the house trade menu and not have dex based healing and precasting, the precasting and dex timer are much more closely related than the house trade menu. We've very much tried to keep everything combat related at oct. '99ish, while other things like the existence of runebooks, bank checks and smelting from later that that period have been been implemented.
Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
IMO it doesn't really matter when something was in the T2A era for it to exist on this shard ... because it was all part of it. Why stop certain development at Oct 99 and others at Feb 00? ...
Right now it sucks being a dexer with an 18 second cure regardless of your dex, which is why it was changed in T2A to be tied into Dex ... don't see a big issue with adding that. Leave precast and add that too ... you can argue that they weren't together in T2A, but if thats the case, neither were some of the other things we have tied in together now either.
EA/OSI made the mistake of seperating PvM and PvP into Trammel and Feluccia pretty much ...
why make a similar mistake on this shard by hindering certain aspects of pvp by saying ok .. this is UOsecondage( up to Oct 99 for PvP and up to right before UOR for PvM) ... doesn't make sense ... take the best of everything and put it together ...

Re: In order to stay in compliance with the T2A era.....
The only thing that I'm aware of that is past this time frame would be bank checks. Derrick mentioned smelting and runebooks, but those are actually before this. Smelting came early to mid '99 and runebooks were introduced around november '99.Jaster wrote:IMO it doesn't really matter when something was in the T2A era for it to exist on this shard ... because it was all part of it. It would make obsolutely no sense to add the new healing system. Using a healing system that was introduced after pre casting was removed and added only a couple months before the UOR publish making it active for a VERY brief time during t2a isn't smart at all. It makes much more sense to use PVP mechanics that were MOSTLY active during the t2a era not something only around for a couple months.
