might be cause it needs a newer client to equip it?

You might be right. It looks a lot like this:

except that it faces the opposite way and is just called "a lance" when clicked on. So that would mean it would have to be what, AoS or above? If so, maybe I'll try and find someone who has a later client to test it out.

Interestingly enough, I can't seem to find a Google pic of one equipped anywhere.
