Would you enter a Pure Warrior Event/Tourney

I have a Pure Warrior, without Magery, that I would enjoy Events or Tournaments of this type with.

I think Warriors, or anyone who intentionally 'gimps' their character, deserves nothing.

I might actually blow the dust off of my armor/weapon collection to build a Pure Warrior for this.

I also wouldn't mind meeting with the rest of SA and training and leveling up a bit first. It would be good to have new recruits leveled up at least to the point where they wouldn't feel like they couldn't compete. Alexandra is a 5x GM, but I wouldn't mind working on the last 2 skills a bit. Also a session on how to set up macro's before major events would be a good idea. Not everyone is as use to Razor as the rest of us. More meetings, or just good get-together 's would be nice. And maybe not so limited to just SA. Having open workshops would be a great breeding ground for new recruits and to allow other guilds to get to know us a little better.

Stealing and POisoning is acceptable to have as a skill, as long as it is not employed during an event which excludes it specifically.

Remember, that 7th Skill won't be needed in these fights (Resisting Magic) :)

Healing will help, but we may have matches with only potions, or some with only bandages, maybe limited to GM healers.

I think we could even have Lightweight fights, where mismatched n00bs can fight and have fun. Put restrictions like no more than ONE GM skill or something, and rank fighters based on their number of GM skills?

I dunno, a lot to be fleshed out, but keep it coming.

Hell, it doesn't even matter if you've got GM Magery, as long as you know how to fight without your Reagents, you're fine. :)
No spells, no problem.

I know I'm gonna get spammed with OMG NOT ERA ACCURATE!!, but I think implementing the old crushing blow, et. al. would also help in encouraging more people to try a warrior instead of just another tank mage.

That is one of a few things I'd like to see that are not Era-Accurate.
Another would be the bonuses associated with the different ore types, but I don't know when they started doing that.
Alas, I doubt either will happen, but it's worth hoping for I suppose. :)

IMO it should be player run, not staff run, so I am glad that you are taking steps to set one up and I hope you succeed and get a good turnout. The more player involvement/interaction the better, and this type of tourney may get some different kind of players to participate. Good luck to ya.

I don't think I was around for bonuses for different ores. What was it, a bonus to AC?

As for the different weapons abilities, I think anything that encourages template divirsity would only help the shard in the long run. I know it's a long shot, but I'd love to see it.

I wasn't either, but I learned about it by researching UO again recently.
